Moving on...
It has been a while since I last posted on this forum. I have been SUPER busy and a lot has changed for me. I'm currently living in Mississippi but still have my house in Portland, Oregon. I'm back and forth at least 4 times per year. I'll be living here for another 2.5 years which kinda sucks but it has afforded me the opportunity to step up the AMG game. I have ALWAYS loved the W211 body style and I am infatuated with LARGE V8's. Lucky for me AMG has paired the 2 nicely and I have finally reached a point in my life where I can afford to take the plunge. I am in the market for a W211 E63 and believe I have found "the one". It doesn't have the P30 package and it doesn't have the interior wood trim color I prefer but it does tick almost every other box. The one draw back is that it has the pano roof which is an option I was hoping to avoid but it seems every W211 E63 that has the options I want has it. I have no plans on selling my C43, it will continue to be my daily driver when I am in Portland.
I might need to change my name to 601E63 ////AMG
I hope all is well with you guys

Sorry to see you move on and we'll all miss your white coat technician solutions and write-ups. Pop in here from time to time to say hi!

I’m in a similar situation. Just moved over to a 211 E55. The power is sooo addicting. May be selling my C43 too..can’t decide. Just rebuilt all the suspension arms & did adjustable rear camber arms along with the adjustable front LCAs (thanks PJ!)

I guess "Moving on" wasn't an accurate title for the thread. I have no intention of selling my C43 and it will continue to be my daily driver when I'm in Portland. I will ALWAYS love my C43. Currently I am between 2 E63's right now. One is a black on black 2009 E63 which has the P1 and P2 package but doesn't have the P30 package and has the pano sun roof which I DO NOT want. The other is a 2008 silver on Ash E63 with the P2 and P30 package without the pano sunroof. Right now I am leaning towards the 2008 even though I prefer the 2009 update. I have my financing squared away, now its down to the details. I will definitely post pics when I get it.

Well it’s good to hear the 43 won’t be left for dead. I’d recommend the P30, you’ll need that LSD I absolutely love the way those motors sound! Pano is heavy & costly to maintain, but it’s a nice “luxury touchâ€. I don’t open the roof often, but I enjoy having the sunshades always open & passengers seem to enjoy the back seats more.

I have reached an agreement on price with the dealer for the 2008 E63. It has 45,889 miles on it. The dealer is replacing the head bolts with the updated version from Mercedes. If everything works out as planned I am going to fly out to pick it up on Saturday and drive it back. Pictures will be posted immediately

That's awesome that you're gonna keep your w202. I'm probably never selling mine, as well. But I have very heavily thought about getting something newer to daily while I park my C43/55. I would prefer a CLS55 but would likely settle for an E55 since they're so much cheaper.

im thinking about a second car too, but not interested in selling the c43. i might go in a different brand direction though. porsche 964 has always been my favorite. other desirable would be the range rover classic and to round out my list a jeep wrangler of some kind, dont really care about the model on the jeep.

The E63 has been paid for. I am sitting in O'Hare waiting for my flight to Philly to pick the beast up. I will be posting pics tomorrow
some cool features to list:
P30 package
carbon fiber trim (I believe from the factory)
passport radar detector professionally installed
I haven't even driven it and I am in the process of buying a Eurocharged tune

The exterior is in EXCELLENT condition 10/10. Not 1 scratch, dent, or ding. No body or paint work, just perfection. The interior is a 9.5/10, I say this because the alcantara on the steering wheel is dulled. Honestly I could do without the alcantara on the steering wheel. The guy I bought the car from replaced the head bolts the same day I picked it up. I watched the mechanics button it back up. The radar detector is awesome, I'll post some pics/vids of it in action. The only complaint I have is the car has a USB and AUX input in the glove box. When I use the USB to play music it crackles like you wouldn't believe. It's fine when I use the AUX input but it doesn't charge my phone...
The car is near perfect and I am beyond excited. This thing is a freeway MISSILE. I can't believe how hard it pulls! I got to play with a CTS-V wagon on the freeway, that thing is FAST and that supercharger whine is insane.
Anyway the modding begins Already purchased the Eurocharged tune and I am looking at the LOMO M1 lowering module. ROW air boxes and MBH headers are in future and that will probably be it. Shooting for 550+ HP all motor

Awesome awesome!! Very nice purchase, are you liking the 7 speed? When I first got my E55, I couldn’t stop grinning ear to ear. Your car looks beautifully maintained & that’s great to hear the head bolts are done. Maybe look into an Android head unit if the factory one isn’t enough. That’s hilarious you already encountered something to run your unicorn against.

This car is insane, 1/4 throttle pulls harder than full throttle in my C43

Thanks! I’m digging the airmatic too, but I’d be lying if it the thought of being stranded doesn’t cross my mind frequently. Mine is actually lowered via the Renntech V3 lowering module & set on Sport II. However, I do typically drive in comfort most of the time. It is pretty killer to be able to raise the car over speed bumps. It also has a Renntech TCU tune to speed up the shifts a bit, but they’re still not instantaneous.

Very nice vehicle
If I get something newer, I'll stay with a C but a w204 with the real fire breathing N/A V8

Good to read the positive stories on this board. I see two beautiful E class AMG's in this topic love them!
Keep us posted on the updates, always fun to read about opinions and mods.
Personally I would forget about the Alcantare wheel, for my CLK I got a custom wheel made in Germany. Love how it makes the interior looks more fresh.
Hard choice between the 55 and the 63, choosing myself between the two for an CLS AMG. For now I enjoy the 6.0 M113 in the CLK, great fun but I love the big body coupe style of the CLS.
@503C43 ////AMG What do you think about it's engine sound? Going to mod the AMG exhaust?
