Premium v Regular?
just wondering if our nearly 20 year old cars are smart enough to know the difference between 93 and 87. there are hardly any stations here that sell 91 and sometimes i will do half a tank of 89 and half 93, but i am pretty sure that gives me closer to 93 than 91. cant the argument also be made that 93 on our 91 engines will not detonate when it is supposed to?

you will notice if engine is pinking on bad gas.
run on 93 which is probably the best most energized gasoline if you don't have Shell Formula gas which is 99 to 100 octane in europe.
your car will be like the bunnies on Duracell batteries, it will just go on and on never stops

Mine runs on 95RON EU style with no problems. I have tried 98 and Shell Ultimate 100 with no noticeable difference except to the thickness of your wallet

I agree that 91 (95 RON) is there best for the car, they just don't sell 91 around here. Only Sunoco sells 91 and I'm usually not around that way. So I know using a lesser fuel will retard timing, so I usually use 93. I guess I'm wondering if our old cars can advance timing enough to compensate for 93.
I read that 2/3 93 and 1/3 87 will give me 91 but when u do mix, I usually just go 50/50 on 93 and 89.

I would always only be running 93, as the octane ratings get confusing between Europe and the US. There's a reason they stated "PREMIUM FUEL ONLY" instead of "91 OCTANE ONLY"

within a few years we will most likely have the highest fuel taxes in the world!
annual government penalty taxes increases fuel costs which gets higher for every year in my country and not to fogget they also added extra 2% points annual tax percentage on fuel cost making it more expensive to fuel up the car for every year!
we have tax on tax meaning double penalty taxes on each and every LITRE of fuel, talk about politic leaches sucking blood from peoples wallets!
soon we'll only have wealthy republicans afford to drive cars in my country as these are the rich phat cat people.
Republicans ecuals to swedish Moderats which are the rich people.
Democrats are Social democrats which equals to average Joe's.

norwegians are welthy on olio monie,
only bad thing is they like Denmark has hefty import taxes on high power cars.
if i remember correct i believe electric cars are tax free.
we have a vehicle hostile government when it comes to gas/diesel cars.
enviro-faschists runs the show now.
we're doomed!
average Joe people won't be able to afford to drive their cars within a few years, only phat cats can buy new eco friendly cars

i read somewhere that the automakers are going to switch to 100 octane (105 in EU) because it burns cleaner and will meet new emission laws. the cost is for the consumer because 100 octane is more expense

Lol, well back to fuel. There's a setting in the m.e. for you to run regular fuel instead of premium. I think it just cuts mad timing though so not sure why you'd do that

not really E85 is rated at 100 to 105 octane so what you read was just car manufacturers switching to E85 lol
