I used "M156" knock sensors, cause new "M112/M113" not available around me,

and i hate to use any second hand Elec. items, kinda my weird habit..:D,,

you can simply, not close the hood completely, and let someone to drive the car, and you can diagnose the car easily..!!

W202AMG 02-12-2018 11:33 AM

Are they the same sensor or are they less sensitive than the standard units?

cm60k 02-12-2018 02:18 PM

No bro., if they're less sensitive, will NOT put them,

as you know; knock sensors are the heart of Engine, can't joke with them, isn't..?!?,

they are better price than "M112/M113" sensors, and i like how bend of the EV1 connectors, more carving for connector plug..:)

you can go with "M112/M113" sensors, no problem with that, but in my case; they're NOT available around me,,

and IMO; they're not deserve the price, compared to "M156" sensors..!!

Yeah in some ways that is a plus, but on later model LT1 Corvettes, it was a common thing to add the LT4 knock sensor module, as it was less sensitive. The knock sensors themselves were the same, the ECM has interchangable modules to control sensitivity.

The idea behind this was due to different rocker arms being used, and those made more noise, which had an impact on knock sensor registers.

it may helps to narrow the issues,

last month, i did swap for my friend, we forced losing power at high idle,

diagnose the car so many times, no codes founded..!,,

after that, we decided to diagnose the car while driving, after around "10" minutes, ECU deducts wrong signal back from knock sensor bank [2/R]..?!?!,,

replaced the two knock sensors, bingoooooooo, everything comes sooo great..:)

-;ZAYED;-

did that car show simular issues to mine with the hessitation?

zayed, i purchased 2 new BOSCH knock sensors, part number is 0 261 231 110 / 802 33116 101 / 003 153 86 28 and seller is QE Parts in USA, says these are the correct ones for the C43 / E55.

also purchased brand new intake manifold, PIERBURG 7.22671.06.0 / 113 140 07 01

Something really strange lately though...

i have had some health issues and spent a week in hospital, the car was not started for over 3 weeks, i expected it would run like a total dog, but it actually ran better than it has in a very long time.

I cant explain that at all.

I believe this, I had my car parked for a week. Didn't get started not once. When I did go start it and drove it I couldn't believe how good and how fast it drove. I didn't disconnect the battery either so wasn't that the ecu reset. And it continues to drive very well..

W202AMG 03-19-2018 09:25 AM

Yeah im not sure what is going on there. I havent used it in more than a week since that one drive, i think i will have to drive tomorrow so ill see what happens.

No, it was certainly running better, sitting in park idling the throttle was very snappy the way i reckon it should be, and my like my E55 was.

W202AMG 03-20-2018 07:32 AM

Well it wasnt all in my head, drove the car today and it ran like usual, there is no question it was considerably more powerful last time, for just that one off day.

The way it revs up you would think the timing is retarded abit.

KJI3jflarryfe93 03-20-2018 08:46 AM

how's the weather down under?
did you have rain recently?
rainy weather makes car breath better with fresh air

yeah mate, a fair bit of rain. I can hear it about 500 meters away right now actually.

But having said that, weather was fine both times i have taken the car out.

KJI3jflarryfe93 03-20-2018 02:43 PM

maybe car gets reset by it self not driven for long time?
or you maybe forgot how it drove last time you drove the car and now it behaves differently with a new sense of feeling from you?

No. It starts rough most of the time after sitting more than 7-8 hours, yet on that one occation it didnt, it started and ran perfectly. Pushing the throttle in park resulted in a very snappy rev up, which usually it not the case, its quite a lot slower, like what happens if you dont have enough advance on the spark timing.

I've put more than 100,000klms on this car in the last 3 years, so i know exactly how it starts and runs.

W202AMG 03-21-2018 08:27 PM

Starting my E55 cold used to result in a nice big growl, the C43 was the same when i first got it, but cold starts on it now are like there is not enough fuel pumped in at start, fuel rail is up to pressure and holds fine.

MAF is new, 02 sensors are 12 months old, coolant temp sensor is 12 months old, cam and crank sensors are fine. Disconnecting battery over night does not change this either.

The ESL is new, but still have all 3 original keys and key reader, id be suprised if that had anything much to do with it though.

mickey13 03-22-2018 05:10 AM

Just to throw out some ideas.

fuel pump relay might be old and not sending enough or consistent voltage. Can try flushing the fuel system as well for the rough start.

Poor response could be related to above or maybe worn throttle line.

Looks like you've really replaced just about everything, absent something replaced that may not be working 100%

Scratching my head on this one. Hopefully it's not ecu related.

mickey13 03-22-2018 05:12 AM

Really another long shot but check your ground strap.

DRBC43AMG 03-22-2018 05:32 AM

Also throwing an idea, have you changed your fuel filter?

have not replaced the fuel pump relay, might look at that. Fuel pump is 12 months old and genuine.

Throttle cable and throttle position sensor are new,

KJI3jflarryfe93 03-22-2018 06:04 AM

if your car drives slow like grandpa using a walker?
it could be clogged injectors not giving enuff fuel?
have you tried with a bottle of wich brew Motul cleaner poured in your tank when you're low on fuel below 30 litres?
low on fuel gives you a higher cleaning concentrate.

maybe you have a vacuum leak somewhere giving you issues?
