18 Monoblocks Refinished
Just had my 18 Monos refinished and mounted a new set of Michelin Pilot Supersports. Also doing a wheel stud conversion. Looking forward to getting them on the car and trying these new tires out

Looks very well done. Are the lips also varnished?
Mine may need doing soon with only a front one having a bit of curbing rash, so should not be too expensive to do all four...

That price included removing and remounting the tires and since I bought new tires, I got them mounted and balanced within that total price. That is probably worth about $20 per wheel around here.

everytime I click on this thread I get a virus alert to scan my computer.
scanning my data, luckily there is no virus on my computer but this thread seems to be somehow fishy for my virus protection to alert everytime?
ECTurboGSX, did you hide anything in this picture with your refinished rims?

Oh man, if the bolt pattern is the same, I have some pristine HRE's (18's) that I've been trying to sell. They were on an E550 I had for a few years. I rotated so often, they're all pristine(three sets of 18's(two hre's and one mandrus haha) I had a wheel problem for a while but I'm better now. let me know because I live near Raleigh. Good luck to you.

Local shop called Rimguard. Just had to do some research on the local car boards to see who people recommended and combined that with Google reviews. That being said, we had agreed to a price of $175 per wheel for polished lips and when I got there, they claimed that was a mistake and it would be $250 per wheel. I was pretty pissed about that, but the workmanship itself looks really good.

They were machined down to remove the curb rash and it looks like they may have a coating on the machined portion. I'll have to look a little more closely. I wanted to have the lips polished, but they changed the price pretty dramatically on me for that when I dropped the wheels off, even though we had agreed to a price via email before I took them in, so that was a bit off-putting. The centers were obviously powder coated. They were $150 per wheel to have redone, but they look practically brand new. Not sure whether it would be pricier or not in the EU.

150/wheel for powder is about right. funny, but wheel refinishers are some of the most shady mfs out there. not surprised they played with the numbers to get you in. glad they did a nice job overall though!
