You are one very lucky owner

Got to use a DA polisher on it a bit yesterday. It makes the job a lot easier and I get better results.

kudos to you for stripping down the attachment pieces, cleaning them up and polishing.
You were able to reuse some of the rocker panel fasteners? btw, for the rocker panel covers, I have a leftover roll of 6" wide clear vinyl and applied it to some newly painted ML55 rocker panels (15" long at both ends for rock chip prevention) I swapped onto the ML500 last year summer. It's held up with no issues and bonded with no peeling. I plan to do the same onto the C230K rocker panel covers in the late Spring. |
Broke a few clips but I should have spares :)

Great work!! Looks like glass :y
|
looks awesome! How do the oxidized areas and rock chips look?
Are you running spacers? |
Im not done yet.
Rock chips will be done last before ceramic coating. Ive only done left side and hood so far. Hood could be better but its already way nicer than what it was. I dont run spacers. I have 265/30/18 in the rear and 225/40/18 front https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...267c63c40c.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...15bd51a773.jpg |
Finaly had some time to work on the other side. This is just with rubbing compound, still need to polish it.
First pic shows qrt panel not done compared to the door. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...ea748d9e03.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...a3d1667018.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5d2b16d7a8.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...68d54162ee.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...72abb98c9d.jpg |

I put in pretty thick spring pads last year. I used to ride with no spring pads up front at all. I think Ill put the thinnest ones in.
This was the car when it was low. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...bedf3f936c.jpg |
You need the avantgarde grill STAT!

Almost done with exterior. Detailed the spare wheel as well. Next step is interior and glass clean up.
Gonna steam clean the interior and wash the carpets. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...2ee0ffe3d3.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...b506010e2c.jpg |
