You are being defensive and rude. Those are character flaws in case you aren't aware.

I hope you get your brake situation worked out satisfactorily.
I wasn't talking about you when I said I was being accused of being heavy on the brakes. I understood your point and responded by saying ESP was completely off. I actually like to drive with it OFF because I don't like it when it cuts my power.

And yes, I was rude to you and I apologize. It just felt like you were insulting my intelligence.

Thank you.

Thanks Guilty, we're good.

I know you're no dummy. Trouble shooting always starts with ruling out user error first though

What did the MB SA say about the condition of the rotors?
Normally, they try to replace them at every brake job.

Did you ask him why the rear pads would wear as quick as the front? That's really weird. My brakes almost always wear twice as fast up front. A lot of my vehicles never needed rear brake pads over the entire time I owned them.

I know they claim that brakes are wear parts not covered under warranty but this doesn't make sense. It may be worth talking with the service manager.

The MB SA was referred by a friend and he knew ahead of time I was coming so he was being 100% honest and transparent with me.

I did not ask why the rear wore as quick as the front and he wouldn't know anyway. He didn't want to speculate at all.

I had the impression that he thinks I'm a dummy who drives with his left foot on the brakes because he kept saying: "I don't know how you drive, I'm not with you" or "I don't ask my customers what they do to their cars" every time I asked how could this have happened. I still opened a claim with MBUSA and I'm waiting to hear back from them.

And yes, usually, I'd only replace the front in my previous cars. The rear last much longer but who knows. It seems that this car may be a bit special since a couple of people reported replacing all 4 pads at the same time.

I took pics of my pads in case anyone can guess what happened to them. For the rotors, no they didn't say anything. I don't understand much about thickness etc. It says the thickness is 35.7 in the front and 25.7 in the back. Does that sound normal?

Do you happen to have the part numbers for the replacement pads they used or a pic of the numbers on the service invoice?

A 000 420 37 00 for the rear and A 000 420 66 00 for the front.

Why?

I've been trying to find aftermarket pads for months. Having part numbers that are verified to fit/work will help... hopefully...
