"you should have gotten a E class"
my sister just saw my C450 AMG, she said it' still just a C Class. with 65,000$ you can get a E Class (E300), it' a different class, it' a higher class.
what do you say about that?
what do you say about that?

She isn't wrong. But maybe you didn't want an E Class?
My brother had ordered a C63 Black (W204) and backed out she it dawned on him at the end of the day it was still a C Class. So he got an SLS for 50k more. There is a little merit to the logic. Like paying 97K for a C63. A lot for a C Class, as good as it is.

I am staunchly against purchasing under powered full size sedan. I use the term under powered subjectively there. A 4-cylinder engine with about 250 horses does not do an E class or 5 series justice...at all.

yeah, I'm sure my C450 AMG is more fun to drive than E300.
when I need to cut lane after stop light, I like to hard accelerate on Sport+ mode or overtake some loser blocking fast lane going at 65mph.

The E300 is nice vehicle but unless you're going for an E43 it's going to feel anemic compared to a C450. But the E43 is in a whole different price point. So it never ends.
I'm sure somebody driving a Rolls-Royce looks at an E-class and says... "it's still just an E Class."

The E300 feels more luxurious on the inside with the large LCD panels compared to the C-class. But if the C-class gets the same treatment in an upcoming refresh then I would say the interiors are about the same.

I've been given two 2017 E300 loaners recently, and each time I couldn't wait to back into my C450 again. Why anyone would want an under powered boat is beyond me. At least step up to the E400.

Black on black. Night package. Smoked head and tail lamps. Some some H&R Springs, Gunmetal Vossen CV3rs, followed by "Hell ----in' no you can't drive it!! You and your sloppy, crumb-droppin kids. And you think I can't hear your brain going....'Why didn't you get an entry level S-Class for all that money?' Shut the hell up, girl."
Mind ya damn bidness.

E300 is the base model of the E class.
E450/43 is the mid tier C class.
I can guarantee the c class may be sooner in the alphabet, but that's just about the only thing negative you can say about owning a c450 over a e300.
Everytime I get loaners I am overjoyed to be back in something that has a soul on the pavement.

The C450 AMG gives me the perfect balance between luxury and sport.
Being that Im 24, it's something that fits me more than driving an E300 where people will drive by and assume I'm driving my dad's car.. just like when I drive his Lexus GS lol

It ultimately comes down to personal preference. If you're an enthusiast and want something sporty and exciting to drive go with the C450/43. If you don't care about performance and want something bigger/more luxurious, go with the E300.
