I paid $988 for three year wheel/tire insurance when I picked up my first Mercedes, a 2015 C300 Sport 4Matic with 19" AMG wheels, then when I traded that in a year later for my current 2016 C450, was reimbursed for 2 years worth.
I didn't bother getting the wheel/tire insurance on my C450 (fingers crossed!), don't think it's worth it. If I blow a run flat tire, I'll just get a set of regular tires since the run flat 19" tires wear so quickly. As for damaging a wheel, replacements can be found on ebay for a lot less than the dealership.

I hit a pothole yesterday so hard that it blew the tire and bent the rims and cracked my windshield!!!
Is this covered under warranty?

I called the city clerk and they told me that I should be more conscious of missing man hole covers..they also told me that because it was night out when it happened it's not the city's fault because all city employees who check the streets only work during the day between 9 to 5..basically told me too bad

Btw, in Australia we get Dunlops instead of the mentioned Pirellis. Road noise is awful.

In what vehicle did you hit a pothole and crack your windshield...those are not OEM wheels which are available for C450 or C43 according to the MB build site.

This wasn't my c43 luckily.. it was my w204 c300 that was my motherinlaw car before she passed away..my wife refuses to sell it because of its sentimental value..I usually use it when I'm going somewhere like the super market or mall that I don't want to leave my c43 in the parking lot to get hit by shopping carts

I think it's safe to say that no wheel/tire from any manufacturer would survive a pothole big enough to crack a windshield! I've been fortunate I guess since I've hit a couple big potholes myself using my OEM 19" AMG wheels/tires with my old 2015 C300 and current C450, and I haven't encountered any damage yet...knock on wood!

I hear you about not wanting to take your C43 (change your profile!) when you go shopping. I also can see not wanting sell something with sentimental value.

I usually beat the snot out of my dead motherinlaws c300 when my wife isn't around because I couldn't stand my motherinlaw..I actually don't try and avoid potholes at all in her car..I'm hoping my wife lets me trade it in towards something else so I don't have to remember her at all.. it also has the oder of her old nasty perfume mixed with body odor..

I paid $1495 for wheel and tire protection. It's expensive but after my last car I won't take any shortcuts.
Last car I got bubbles in 2 tires. $400 each for new runflats. After the third tire I swapped them all out for non runflats. $800 for all 4.
There were 2 bent rims. $299 each to fix. Then after that my car wobbled cause I drove with bent rims that were not fixed.

Tire pressure
The wheel damage is due to the tire completely collapsing and letting the wheel collide with the edge of the pothole. More air pressure will provide more support. I run 40 psi in the winter. Ride's awful but haven't had any tire/wheel damage.
