Vivid Racing and Dinan are the two I've heard the most about.

These claim to be removed from car and leave no trail in the case of an ECU search, but I can't confirm.

Performance gains are limited, but it's a more conservative tweak than a full ECU flash.

Dinan has the Dinantronic sport unit out now that is quick and easy and gives a nice bump. They are working on a fully warranted version which carries their 4yr /50k warranty as well but its a couple months away still looks like.

The sport works well though and its only 300!

If I had to choose, I would go with Dinan in your case. For $300 you can't really go wrong.

Has anyone heard any ballpark on pricing for the full on Dinan unit? Also, would it be installed similar to the Dinantronic unit or what would installation entail?

the Dinantronics "Elite" unit will have more sensors and a more involved install. I don't think It will be overly complicated, maybe an hour or two. Pricing..who knows as of yet but likely somewhere between $1500-2K, although I could be way high, purely a guess

So can current Sport owners upgrade to the Elite or is it a separate part?

I would recommend skipping the piggyback and just getting a full tune. My buddy had the dinan box on his C43 and I think it made literally 10hp on the dyno lol. We both run AMR stage 1 and it is phenomenal. In my personal opinion, I rather spend the extra money to get it done right once. The power you gain is completely worth the price. Just my two cents! Good luck with the car

Sorry again for my ignorance so can you have both the sportstronics DINAN and the upcoming elite DINAN upgrades? I just got my DINAN upgrade from the dealership but am wondering if I should ask to return so I can opt for the elite (if both cannot be combined).

RaceChip : 12.41 seconds at 112.2 MPH

There's some RaceChip data at:

BMS seems like the piggy back to go with ---> https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...piggyback.html

I like the philosophy in a "full tune" myself as it's adjusting multiple parameters rather than piggy backs which basically only adjust boost and have the car compensate within itself. More aggressive timing is just as useful for increasing power as boost pressure is. But hey, I can't argue with those results ^

Actually, the better piggybacks end up altering more than just the boost (i.e., timings, as well). That's one reason to choose a unit that has 3 or 4 sensor cables as opposed to just the one boost-sensor cable (RaceChip Ultimate has 3 and I think the new RaceChip GTS Black has 4). Looking at various forum postings, the results also tend to correspond to the number of sensors monitored/re-mapped.
