Thinking of trading my CLA45 for a C43

I've had my '17 CLA45 for 4 months and I am thinking of trading it for a '18 C43. I never had the opportunity to drive a 45 before I ordered it (no dealer within 100 miles had one) and I think I may be happier with a C43 as a more suitable daily driver. I think the ride quality would be better and overall be more enjoyable to drive. Anyone have any first hand experience with the differences between the two?

Do a lease swap first. You will take a huge hit with a trade in...

Stick with the CLA45. The grass is always greener on the other side. Your monetary loss from swapping between the two cars will far outweigh any sort of gain you'll feel in driving comfort and enjoyment. In fact, save that money you'll lose in depreciation and put it to the side as a future down payment for your next car. Always look forward boss!

Is there something specifically that you don't like about the CLA45?

I have a C43 and drove the CLA45 at the AMG course. The biggest difference is that the C43 has a nicer interior and less turbo lag. Otherwise, you may not find them that different.

I had a 15' CLA45 which I had lot's of fun in. I wanted something more luxurious
and less of that harsh ride with more interior space. I love how the C43 feel as a daily driver, but sometimes I do miss my CLA45 from time to time. The ride in the C43 with the 19" runflats are terrible. I'm switching them out in a couple of weeks to non-runflats and the ride will be much much better.

The interior in the C43 is outstanding compared to the 45. Stock to Stock performance is about the same with much less turbo lag which makes the C43 a better daily.

I still love the CLA45 coupe styling specially after the facelift for the 17 models. At this point a trade would not make any sense and I would just stick with the 45 since it's only 4 months old. It's a great car!

I hope this helps, but at the end of the day it's your decision.

Had a cla45 as a loaner, hands down the C43 drives completely different.

C43 is much more refiners and power the torque...
Driving the cla for one day missed my c43 so bad

they gave you an AMG car as a loaner? You sure you weren't in a more basic cla?

Thanks for all of your responses. My main dislike of the 45 is the ride quality. I gathered a lot of info from various forums and auto website articles on the 45 and I knew before I purchased the car it wouldn't ride like a Cadillac. I didn't even think the ride was so bad when I drove the car for the first few weeks. But as the time goes by I find it bothers me more. The Nissan 4x4 pick-up I traded in on the 45 actually rode better. It's no fault of the car, it drives, handles and rides like a performance car should. It's just not right for me.
I do like the style of the 45 over the 43 and I thought there would be more of a performance advantage with the 45; but after reading some of your comments maybe not so much. I guess the added torque of the 43 makes it feel just about as fast as the 45. I am not a racer but I do like fast cars.
So I think I'll wait until the '18 43's hit the showroom and go test drive one and see how much of a hit I'll take on the depreciation and then make a decision. Like death and taxes auto depreciation is an unavoidable fact of life. Thanks again for all your inputs.

Why not trade it in for a S4? Or a m2?

Honestly this might be my last Mercedes.

Never been a fan of the looks of the Audi. I am sure they are fine cars but they look to boxy to me. The BMW, I like the way it looks but the M2 isn't AWD.

Yeah, I think you just should abandon the Mercedes brand. At least my coupe is the last Benz for me..

After owning too many cars from the same brand, they all seem to be the "same". He's probably just ready for a change. So am I.
