Go back to the dealer and tell them you noticed it after you got home..you don't know how it got there.. must have been done during unloading of there truck or during prep.. Demand a new wheel

The damage to the wheel looks purely cosmetic and can be polished out. As for the tire, it all depends how hard you hit the curb on the sidewall...hard to tell from your pictures. Do you have wheel/tire insurance?
Just have your dealership take a look at it, and ask them for their recommendations. Will this cost you some money to fix...most likely if you don't have wheel/tire insurance.

So you're advocating that he outright lie to his dealership?

Of course a car dealer would never dream of doing this...

Definitely not the way to start a good relationship with your dealership.

Accept it as the first battle wound of your car. It's okay, it happens. I got a small stone chip on the garbage known as Highway 401 in Toronto within 1 week of owning my car. Just have your dealership take a look at the tire though to make sure it's safe to drive on.

I'm sure the dealership had already performed a walk-around of the vehicle before the buyer took delivery, so I don't see how this blatant lie from the buyer claiming he didn't know how it happened would be very believable to the dealership.

My MB dealer delivery of our brand new C43 as it was sitting in the showroom... I pointed to a dent in the rear fender near the gas filler door.
Using this logic of burden of proof I'm just lucky I saw it in their showroom, otherwise it would have been my fault?
Probably not as lily white as you would chose to believe. But hey that's ok, whatever floats your boat!

Curb rash is easy enough to fix on certain rims. I had a pothole dent that was banged out a few months ago and, during the process, they had to resurface the wheel. The CNC machine the alloy rim repair shop used was fantastic, wheel looked brand new, all the road rash was gone.
Maybe wait a couple of years then get them all resurfaced...

I get home and see a tiny chip above the light right on the edge of the hood. And it's not a small chip, it's a deep one straight through the paint to the metal. FML. But again, that is life and sh*t like this happens. If it didn't happen then, it would have surely happened sometime in the future. There is no way in the world I could have avoided that tiny little rock.

NEVER park between 2 van. I was between 2 van in a shopping mall. it's hard to see cross traffic when backing out, I have full attention looking left and right and forgot about the rear, my rear bumper hiitted the truck (on the other side) and cause a very minor dent on the bumper. the freaking parking sensor goes off AFTER i bumped into the truck. WTF

Dealer sold my friend a car with scratches on all 4 wheels before from the machining process when the wheels were made.. also a big scratch and dent on the rear trunk..he picked it up when it was raining and didn't notice it till the next day..dealer replaced all 4 wheels and painted the rear trunk and fenders to blend..dealers don't look over a car as good as you may think

Dealers are scum.. they would sell you a scratched rim in a heartbeat if you didn't notice it. Always blame them especially if it's only been a day or two

Guess I come at it from a different perspective.
