Official C43/C450 1/4-mile thread

It will be interesting to see everyone's times in a unified thread. Please post a much info as possible.

I think it will be great to see how different tracks, tunes, fuel, temps, weights, etc.. compare. 1/8 mile times are welcome too.

Here's mine,

Car: 2017 C43 Sedan
Track: Englishtown, NJ
Tune: Stock
Fuel: 93 octane
Weight: 3955 lb w/driver and 1/4 tank of gas
Temp: ~85f

Went again today, it was about 10f cooler (mid 70's), everything else was similar. While the 1/4 times didn't improve, I had a good 60' practice.

Interesting.. are you manually shifting? It looks like your 60' is spot on, but you're dropping off by the 1/8th and 1000' vs. your first run.

I'd be curious to know what your intercooler's coolant temp was in that 1st day, 1st run vs. the subsequent runs and your latest runs.. were you stopping and shutting off the engine after each run while you waiting in the line for staging, or did you keep it running? How long is the return back to staging from the end of the strip?

All in auto, no manual shifting. The first set of runs were all almost back to back, maybe 10 minutes in between. This time I actually had over 1 hour between runs. I'm not really sure what exactly happened, cooler temps and a good launch, but it fell a little up top. Possibly head wind!

Hey 18bora. Those are very very good times! Great numbers, and great idea for the thread. I plan on posting back again once i head back. Let me know when you plan on going back to atco. It's my favorite track.

Thanks,

I normally go whenever I'm in the mood. If I'm free and the weather is nice, I check their schedule and just go.

Friday nights at Atco, you can get 6+ runs if you show up early. Wednesday nights at E-town, don't expect more than 3 runs.
You can also go during Euro and Import events, FF LIVE, EURO’D OUT and Ratchet Friday.

C43
OE Tune 12.075 sec 1/4 Run & Track Experience

I wanted to share my 1/4 mile drag times with the forum post my OE tune. Because my C43 is my daily driver, I wanted to run it at the track as close to how I tool it around town so that is why I left it with;
-Two 30lb steel frame car seats in the back seat
-1/2 tank of fuel
-Spare tire
-Miscellaneous training gear in the trunk, ~10-15lbs
-Sport + Mode
-Traction Control Off
-My 225lb frame
-93 Octane
-Stock everything except for the OE Tune
—————————————————-
-Drove around the water box on all passes
-Brake-torqued on all passes between 1,000-2,500 rpm
-Did NOT paddle shift on any runs
-43 degrees Fahrenheit during all runs

I’m admittedly a bit rusty and haven’t been to the track in 5 years so the car likely would have done better in more experienced hands but my best pass was 12.075 seconds @113.79 mph. Other notable passes were, 12.114 sec @112.91mph, 12.180 sec @113.30 mph and 12.212 sec @112.82 mph. As the serious cars started to run, light debris and film started to build on the track right out of the chute. I was surprised that I had some traction issues through first and second gears on 2 separate passes because I find it very hard to break the tires loose even with traction control off and wide open throttle in semi slick conditions.
I never felt like I had the rpm’s dialed in during brake-torquing. Launches were mostly good but I just never felt like I hit that sweet spot.

From my perspective, the car felt very good on the first half of the track and I believe the 1/8 mile times/speed reflect that; 7.762 sec and 90.70mph on my best pass of 12.075.
It was the back half of the track where the power seemed to fall off a bit. Overall I’m very pleased with the times that the car put up but I feel that with some gummier tires, ditching some of the weight and honing in the launch, this car will run 11.9’s. Will try again in a few months. I'm open to feedback/suggestions to improve my times so please feel free to comment.

Thanks to all of you who answered my many questions about your experiences with AMR, OE and EC tunes. I plan to post a more detailed review of my experience with OE at a later time. I just knew that there were a few who I owed numbers to and I wanted to post these to the group.

Thanks!

This gives me hope! I trapped 113.79 (same as your fastest) and ran a 12.15 - now I'm sure I can get my car into the 12.0 range. Thanks for sharing

nice

The numbers show that all tunes are ~ about ~ the same, other than the price... This is the main reason I did not go for the "custom dyno toon" Weather, track condition, driver, etc... play a big part of the numbers, but, If it makes you (not directed @ anyone in this thread) feel better that you paid more for a toon, then good for you.

Maybe so, but I don't think the JB1 fits in this same category. I know you disagree, but I don't think you're making your power as safely as a full tune. I could be wrong, and I'm fine to admit that, but I don't think the two parameters you're playing with to improve times is equal to the several maps that tuners are altering to improve performance.

its actually not a good idea to full throttle your engine at a low rpm with a hi load (low speed hi gear full throttle)

Have you tried mixing in a little E85. I ran 11.7 at 117 on 93, but I did noticed when I mixed in a little E85 the car performed better

No haven’t tried, that was a month ago with looser settings on Map6. I’m going to try oct. booster next time.
