On the negative terminal of the battery, there is a wire that's clipped on. Unclip it and your Eco start/stop no longer function.

Will it set off any lights in the dash or have an impact on how the car is supposed to run in any situation?

It will set turn auto Eco start/stop off after few seconds of starting up the car. Noticed car revs little higher.

Can someone check their idle rpm on comfort? I thought I saw 500rpm last year while idling at the light before unplugging this.

That thing on the battery is the current sensor, it's used for controlling alternator output and charging system actions among other things. Removing it will force the alternator to run all the time at full power as the car can no longer determine how much amperage is actually passing in and out of the battery, but yes a battery or charging system fault will disable your eco stop/start as will many other things.

EDIT - after carefully thinking about what had happened for past year, the raise in rpm, only explanation is what is described by Joe. In which increase in alternator load will increase the rpm by 100-200rpm. After plugging the grey clip back on, rpm dropped to 500 rpm when idle. I think I will suggest obd2 flasher instead of this method.
