2016 C450 top speed limiter
Hi all
I have and issue with my 2016 C450
For first time in two years of having the car i was able to go to the track and test the vehicle and to my surprise the top speed limiter kick in at 130 mph at 4000 rpms
now this is a concern to me when Mercedes advertised the top speed was limited to be 155 MPH, has any body with a C450 has had this issue
please let me know
Regards

The speed limiter is set at the factory dependent on what tires are installed at the time. If your car came equipped with 18" AMG wheels & A/S H rated tires, the speed limiter was set to 130 mph. If your car came with the 19" AMG wheels and performance Summer tires, it's set to 155 mph.
The only was to change the speed limiter is with an ECU reflash.

Then either a mistake was made at the factory when assembling your car, or the dealership you bought the car at switched the wheels from the 18" to the 19" wheels you bought the car with.
Go back to the dealership you bought the car at, and have them generate a build sheet from your VIN.

ive seen a lot of these threads now. I am starting to think all US Spec c43 are limited at 130 MPH regardless of wheel setup.
I have the 18" all season tires and my car is definitely limited at 130 MPH. Verified multiple times.
This guy has the 19" and he has verified 130 MPH. (Dealers dont just change wheels).
SO i think the real question is has anyone in US ever seen 155 MPH in thier c43 or c450 stock? No tunes of course.

on mbusa it states the coupe is limited to 155. so maybe coupes are 155 and sedans are not. which is pretty crappy.

My understanding was that all US spec C43s were limited to 130 mph (regardless of which wheels/tires were put on the car when ordered). Car and Driver tested a car equipped with 19" wheels and summer performance tires and the car only did 134 mph. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...an-test-review

realistically, if you need to go faster than 130, you are probbaly pulling with someone and you are gunna want the tune. lol so may as well just get the tune.

if I’m going to do a pull in Mexico at most it may happen 3 or 4 times a year not really worth a tune for that many pulls lol. Next time I go to Mexico I’ll update y’all lol
