On a related note, it's both depressing and encouraging to see how quickly Terry has moved through Alpha & Beta on the new Kia Stinger JB4 dev. If/when he pulls the trigger it seems like it'd be a quick turn around.

Just an FYI for anyone installing or removing the jb1:
"Open the hood, lock the doors, and wait 5 minutes for the ECU to go to sleep before beginning the installation" ... I would do 10 minutes just to be on the safe side.

I still ordered and I'm the one managing this thread! If anything you're proving the point of the demand for our platform. Though not guaranteed, it's not unheard of for companies to offer a discount to upgrade to the newer version, so the sting might not be so bad for you. Never know.

I'm not sure if a jb4 will be a totally new unit or and upgrade to the existing one. Even if you have to buy a new unit, I'm sure someone out there will be willing to buy it for 1/2 price, which is probably less than what tuners charge for a re-tune.

Terry (BMS Owner) responded to my last post and stated that they are making great progress on the JB4 and will need a local beta tester in next week or two. If any of you guys are local to Simi Valley, CA please chime in and volunteer please.

In fact, the JB4 allows you to switch maps on the fly instead of being in race mode 100% of the time like a full ECU tune. Most of the BMW guys have JB4 connected to their steering wheel controls and can change maps at any time. I don't always keep my car at map6 on Jb1. Depending on my driving style for that day I may be at Map0 or Map2 or even Map6 but see the beauty of it is we can choose. It's nice to actually set my car to Map0, then when you need to track or beat up on somebody, switch between maps. You full tune guys are at peak level 100% with no way of dialing back. I think you guys will be the first to go like, Tiesto's song "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom"
Anyway, let's keep the peace in this thread. Nobody has put a JB4 on a c43 yet so you can't compare to the N54 335i as it was plagued with problems since its introduction in 2007. I had no issues with JB1 or JB Beta that was on my c250.

The wait is over!!!
For those of you waiting for the JB4 upgrade it’s here! Terry got it going on Friday and offered to upgrade my JB1. I declined the offer because how many of us really want to go to JB4?
