Any good runflats

like almost everyone here I hate my tires on my C43. So damn Loud and don't last long. I'm on my second set of fronts now. I have the 19inch contis

While I think the conclusion is a lot of people are going to traditional tires, I'm not sure it's best for me. My wife and young daughter sometimes drive my car and if a flat were to happen I can't risk them being stranded on the road someplace. I don't think I could really rely on them using a slime kit either. So the runflats might still be the best solution for my my situation.

so - are there any good runflats out there for this car? Sound and longevity are the most important areas for me.

I am not a tire snob but mine has Continental Pro Contact Gx SSR. They are run flats, and seem quiet to me. 15k miles and will certainly get to 20k if not more

Just as an FYI, just because it's a runflat doesn't mean the tire won't deflate all the way. As an example, last friday my tire failed and deflated instantly. Leaving me stranded either way. I actually had to call a friend of mine to get me, take me home, grab my jack, tools etc and my winter tire to swap so I could I drive it again.

A good runflat is like an oxymoron.

I appreciate the feedback. Yes, I think most can agree that runflats suck. However, I think it probably fits what I need best, which is a level of security for the family when they drive the vehicle. If it's just me I would be fine having a slime kit or something temporarily to get be to a service station.

I'm just curious if anyone has had any good luck with runflats not being just horrible. I can't take the noise most of all. It's like I'm driving a Jeep with a lift kit on it.

We're pretty biased here. We hate runflats. Since you happen to like the noise they make and care for the security of your family, you should invest in immediate breakdown cover. There may be a time when the runflat fails and you will need the cover to be towed.

Big difference if go with the std setup of 18s.. Did that for my '18 43 coupe and it is much better then the 19s on rough surfaces. The std wheels look good too. This was actually a suggestion from my sales guy at MB. That extra rubber makes a big difference on comfort and no impact to handling.
