[Canada] C43 Fully loaded best deal/tips?

Hi everyone.

Trust all is well.

First post on here so forgive any mistakes. I am planning on ordering a 2019 C43 Coupe (full options) later this year for a January delivery.

Anyone has any tips/insight as to how much negotiation room one will have at that time?

Given:
- It will be year end of sales cycle so they might want to meet their quota
- More negotiation room if I am getting all options?
- Any base line to start negotiating from?
- Is there a benefit of buying from corporate/non corporate dealers?
- Can I aim for a 10% discount off MSRP or more?

Thanks in advance.

2019 AMG C43 Sedan
For a custom ordered new model year I can't imagine there will be much wiggle room away from MSRP unfortunately but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else will have more input though.

Hey man,

I actually ordered a 2019 C43 coupe earlier this month. Planned July build and Sept Delivery date. As of now theres no MSRP so i wasnt able to do any negotiation.

Ive in the past been able to manage some wiggle room and once pricing is avail and I manage to get a price and deal I will let you know what to expect?

From my experience, non corp dealer have more negotiating room. But again this is just experience based and not factual. I would think 10% off MRSP would be a lot, but Im hoping to get 5-6% if i can. Again, given its a 2019 not sure how much negotiating room there will be.

All the best and congrats!

not sure about the exact discount but here are advices
1. an ordered car makes dealer have no inventory stress, no finical stress, not considering as their quota of the year, not taking parking space etc.
2. try to get rid of the dealer fees transportation fees or any other bull****s.
3. 10% is possible (considering the fee waived)
4. bucket seat is not comfortable
(5. a loaded car without air balance is not complete)

Based on experience, 10% is going to be extremely hard (if not impossible) to get on any brand new facelifted car. Even 6% is pushing it, although you might be able to do it near the end of the month.
My advice would be to get invoice pricing based on the options that you want. (yes the more options the more wiggle room - the prices given to you at a dealer includes the profit that each dealership will make). The more options, the more "profit margin" they have therefore anything between the invoice pricing and the price given to you is your negotiation room.
You play the game by trying to meet invoice pricing as much as possible until you get to a number that meets the dealerships minimum selling price.

Again, because this is a new facelift it'll be a bit difficult. Either way, look for the invoice price from unhaggle, select all your options and see what's the dealer's cost. Then start adding whatever profit you want to give them and work your way up until you hit an agreed number with your dealership. On facelift cars, typically don't see more than 5-6% discount but lowball them first LOL doesn't hurt.

good luck.

Hey there,

have you used Unhaggle a lot before? I just recently heard about it from a friend. What were your thoughts on it?

I just picked up two cars earlier this month and used unhaggle for both. I'd say it's great but I also did a lot of research before hand.
Essentially, I took the unhaggle price, asked for Invoice + $1000 profit. Signed contract and out the door within an hour.
Obviously that's also because i looked for instock inventory and both cars were coming with facelifts later this year.
However, it goes to show it was relatively painless. Including the corporate discounts, each of my cars got like a 8 - 11% discount. (This likely won't be possible with new facelifts)
A little bit of research and I get a better deal than most buyers out there. Might not be the best pricing, but squeezing that extra $200 - 300 dollars out of a 60k+ car for the extra 2 hours of negotiation time is just not worth it.

100% Agreed. Ive in the past negotiated an dealt with one dealer which has been nice.

I definitely understand its going to be tough given its a preordered vehicle and 2019 facelift. Unhaggle hasnt had 2019 info yet for the C43 which is understandable. I will keep an eye on it closer to Aug/Sept.

If I get 5% I think Il be happy with association discounts, loyalty discount etc. Im hoping they will waive freight and PDI. Lets wait and see.

Ive also noticed for financing there is an "Implicit Finance charge." When I bought my 2015 CLA 45 i shopped at various dealers and each dealer would have a diff price for this. The dealer that I ultimately went with lowered that "implicit finance charge" way down and it reduced my overall cost.

Thanks again

5% sounds about right. I'd probably start at 6% and no bs fees. I only had to pay freight and pdi and licensing... Didn't even think waiving pdi was an option ahaha. But good luck bud!

I would say 6% would be a good deal. Maybe try having them include prepaid maintenance also. That would be a good deal if you ask me.

So one is going to get a better deal on the 2018 C43 Coupes that are already at the dealership? I called in to a few dealerships and they are only taking 2019 build orders. How much of a deal is to be had on a 2018 Coupe in this case?

Honestly hard to say, but i just picked up my c43 sedan 3 weeks ago @ MB Thornhill. Came up to a 11.5% discount off MSRP (corporate discounts + dealer side discounts). I assume it would be fairly similar discounts if not more.
I'd start by going to MB Canada and search for in stock inventory for dealerships around you then start working from there based on the strategy I mentioned earlier. They didn't even counter my offer, makes me wonder how much more discount I could have negotiated. I couldn't get the exact packages I wanted and wanted only but in general I tell myself, i'm probably still paying less than if I were to go with a 2019.

I ordered a custom one to my liking from MBLondon and got 6 percent off MSRP. 10 might be possible on a dealer ordered car that they are having a hard time selling.

Is this a 2019 model? Thats a solid deal. They were able to negotiate even though pricing hasnt been released yet?

Ive put in an order, but no negotiating yet. Awaiting pricing first as per the dealer.

Wow that's a really good deal for a 2019. It was a MY19 right? Please share your negotiation tips! I've been quoted $55,250 for the base price on the MY19 sedan, waiting to negotiate until closer to build date in September.

Thats awesome that you got an estimated price at least haha. The M18 sedan is listed as $ 56 600 base. I would have thought it would be more than the 2018.

Would be great if its not haha.

I was surprised, of course I got the whole "prices subject to change blah blah blah " but that's the base price on my purchase order. Now it's just playing the waiting game until it's built to haggle the final price.

Thats great. When is it scheduled for build and what did it estimate as your delivery date?

I guess the sedan is made in the States so may be faster delivery. Lucky you!

September build hoping for late October delivery from what they've told me fingers crossed. Selenite grey with cranberry red leather can't wait to see the combination in person!😀

Thats awesome. Hope it arrives soon!

Mine is quoted as a early July build. On my purchase order is lists delivery date of Sept 20.

Im hoping its ready in early Sept though. Its the C43 coupe so I think that has to come from Germany which slows things down :/

Guys sorry for the confusion. I meant I got 6 percent on a customer order back when the c43 just came out in 2016. I used car cost Canada to find the dealer price for my configuration, added a 3 percent commission and that’s what I offered my dealership.

I have managed to get a 5% discount off a fully loaded NEW 2018 C43 (minus the performance LED) currently - in addition to the May discount of 3 months payment waiver and $1,750 sales incentive.

Have I maxed it out in terms of negotiating a better price? Can I take this quote to another non corporate dealership and ask them to beat this price?

More importantly, can anyone share their experience of getting a better deal than this at a year-end sales event? In this case, will there be a potential blowout sale on 2018 models at the end of the year given 2019 will have already hit the lot? Are the year end sales promos more lucrative for Mercedes Benz?

FYI the negotiated MSRP is $70,566 with a discount of $3,714 (5%). Will the 2018 model reach a lower price point in December?

Thanks in advance!

I think you should be able to do better than that.
5% for a 2019 I would say.

This is what I bought.

I feel there is a lot of wiggle room for negotiating on stock cars as opposed to online ordering. My case proves it:
Here is the 2018 C43 I bought a few weeks ago from Gatineau(QC). They had this weekend event and I happened to see this ad on their website. I negotiated it down to $59,900 MSRP plus the following options brought it to up $62808 +tax
MPP-PREMIUM PACKAGE
ADP-AMG DRIVERS PACKAGE
MLS-LED LIGHTING SYSTEM
MET-METALLIC PAINT
LEA-AMG RED LEATHER
736-OPEN PORE DARD ASHWOOD TRIM
604- 19 " AMG S SPOKE SPLIT BICOLOR WHEELS
RUSTPROOFING
