funny I can’t get a straight answer from anyone about the difference. I wrote twice on the “jb4 is out” thread asking what’s the diff ..... no answer.
So I ask again what the h$ll difference is there ?
why would anyone buy a jb4 instead of a jb1 ?

You aren't getting an answer because there are several threads that have already answered that question and it's on their website's homepage.

Was just at the shop today getting my AWE touring exhaust installed. While there I asked them about the JB1 and 4. They told me they won't go near them because they have seen too many bricked ECUs from the use of them. They also told me that Mercedes will definitely know that the car was tuned at anytime. No way to hide it. They told me this even though they do tune ECUs.
Not gonna lie, all that information does scare me a bit.

No, not at all, but I first thought that as well. I started researching bricked ECUs and found plenty out there. It has given me second thoughts on messing with my ECU at all.

Until there's more development on the JB4, it's a glorified JB1 with more monitoring. AFR needs to get figured out and stage2-3 management. I know it'll happen, but it's not there yet.
Disclosure: I've ordered a JB4 to check it out.

Can you share where you were researching? I have read nothing about bricked ECU's involving BMS and Mercedes. I've read some issues on BMW forums but even the majority of those were due to user error.
