Renntech Coil Overs

I'm curious if anybody has any experience with these? I wasn't able to find any threads from searching the forum about them, only threads about springs. I've been really interested in grabbing a pair of these to go along with new wheels, any thoughts?

I personally think that Adaptive dampers suspension is way better than coilers for DD, unless you track your car every weekend..

I'm sure they are good. I have the H&R vtfs and they are great! I've recommended them to a few people who are also all very happy and impresses.

No I'm definitely not tracking it every weekend, but I do want to lower it and am not sure whether springs or coil overs are the way to go. I want to retain the function of the ride control suspension, which the coil overs do, but I'm not sure if springs generally do?

Interesting, they look nice, thanks for the heads up! It sounds like they work with the electronic system in our cars, since that was my biggest concern I may have to give these a try. I've heard coil overs can be pretty stiff compared to just springs which is my only worry with them.

It's the shocks that adjust the ride, not the springs. Switching out springs retains your ability to adjust through the ride modes.

Lowering springs is your way to go. You don't need coilovers..

OEM suspension is garbage. If you want improved ride quality swap to coilovers, if you just want appearance upgrade, go with the springs.

Coilovers require a lot of maintenance, can easily be blown. Real pain in the *** for DD. OEM suspension is good, just for some drivers it seems very stiff..

Ah okay thanks for the info, never messed with any of my cars’ suspensions before so this is all new to me, appreciate it 👍🏻!

That’s good news then as the springs are cheaper anyways, I’ll have to look into the H&R VTF springs mentioned above unless anybody has any others they prefer?

Eh I mostly like the suspension, it’s certainly not the best by any means but it works well enough for my purposes, I’d definitely be curious to see how it felt with coil overs but it sounds like they’re not the best way to go from what everyone’s saying.

I don't recommend the H&R springs if you have the sedan. I had them and it gave it a negative rake which I couldn't stand.
I replaced them with the VTFs and couldn't be happier. Set them to a slight positive rake and ride quality is just as good if
not a little better even.

If you have a sedan get the H&R VTF's if you have a coupe save even more money and just get the H&R Sport springs. They can be found for less than $250.

I think there may be something buggy with the software for the adjustable dampening on the early c450/c43. Mine was "OK" until I had a failure and then it was FUBAR'd after MB "fixed" it. It's now the absolute worst suspension of any car I've driven.

I don't know if this has been resolved with the newer models or not. I would be interested to here if anyone else has had problems with their suspension on a C450 or C43?
