Looking to purchase C300 4Matic or C43

Any tips or advice? What is the maintenance like? Oil change price? Or should I just go with a frikkin Toyota Camry???!

This would be my first Mercedes purchase

You’re lost. Get the Camry.

Oil change can be done from jiffy lube for $20. Make sure you flush your coolant and transmission oil as per their recommendation.

If you want all-around best package, c43. If you don’t have the money, c300. If you are thinking Camry, then it sounds like an expensive car may not be best.

maintenance for the annual service through the dealer is anywhere from 300-800 annual, depending upon schedule. But if you are trying to figure cost here are some tips:

-Tires, general maintenance, brakes, brake pads, insurance, gas, loan/lease payments. That’s a place to start. See if the numbers you get fit with your budget

You should state what your reqs/priorities are since the C300 and the Camry aren't really in the same class.

Camry is a value proposition, that is all.

C300 is the entry level to the luxury sport-sedan segment although base models can be fairly Spartan. It's fairly sporty with the 9 speed transmission in the 2017+ models. The older 7 speed models are kinda sluggish in comparison. The exhaust note from the I4 is pretty crappy if you care about that.

C43 is on the mid to high end of the performance sedan segment. The ride is performance focused and not nearly as comfy as the C300 (18" wheels improve this a little). The C43 is especially sporty and very quick in everyday driving. A well equipped C43 retails for about twice the cost of a Camry.

Camry will be cheaper to own and maintain.
C300 will be about 2x the maintenance costs as the Camry.
C43 will be about 3x the cost to to own as the Camry since the extra power coupled with staggered tire setup makes it chew through tires quickly.

I have a C300 right now as a loaner and it's pretty quick. Handles ok too. Not a bad car at all.
