C43 AMG Coupe
So I wrote to AMG asking what the differences were on the engine side...

"I write further to your recent email communication received at our office on the 16th October 2018. I was delighted to hear of your interest in the current production model of our Mercedes C 43 AMG and I understand you would like to know if there has been any modifications to the model in comparison to your current C 43 AMG. I can confirm in our current production of our Mercedes C 43 AMG models the turbos have been enlarged which results in an enhancement of the horse power. Your current Mercedes C 43 AMG's horse power is 367 and our current production models have horse power of 390. In addition to this modification this model now comes with a petrol particulate filter."

I am also curious about any differences in the engine from 2017/2018 and 2019.

guess I’m bi-turbo curious. Okay, I’m done. Thanks for reading.
Fair enough. It just didn't come across as a joke when you posted it. I apologize for being a little harsh in my response.

What a credible, reputable company.....

Hate to necro an old thread, but this may be of interest for some. I said I wanted to wait until someone actually had hands on with the turbos to confirm, and here is the answer, I'll just leave this here:

i mean if you drive both cars it's obvious. (power delivery is very different and less torquey down low)

just wish someone would release a specific tune for the 19+

Re power delivery, you mean worse for the 19 +facelift with a tune?
I have a Eurocharged Tune, tried 3 files, still only gained peak WHP of 26 at the top and Torque gain of 102 lb ft.
There is a 50whp below the curve, but that's how it feels.
Gained massive low - mid range torque which Is great, but can feel that top end is abit stronger but not loads.
Surely with a bigger turbo / turbine it should be easier to improve peak power.
Anyone else have thoughts on this ?

wouldn't say worse - just different. the pre facelift car had gobs of power in the mid range whereas the facelift feels much more linear. The gradual change in power can be perceived as less exciting though.

i don't understand turbo technology well enough to answer that. A larger compressor wheel should be able to produce more power at the same or even less psi but there may be issues with overcoming surge that are stopping that from happening.

i simply don't know though..

It's a bit of a balancing act on the compressor and turbine side with changes, either in the housing or the wheels, or both. Bigger compressor wheels and/or housings usually can add power and at greater efficiency (more power, but also at relatively cooler IAT). The efficiency islands get bigger, so you get more play in how and where you want to use that efficiency: you can usually add boost without seeing IAT go up. And you can hold that boost level across a larger RPM range because of the efficiency increase. This usually leads to more mid-range power increases and shouldtranslate into peak power being shifted a little further up the RPM range, but there are other factors too. Sometimes that efficiency lets you carry power all the way to redline, but usually changes on the compressor side are needed to reduce or eliminate tapering power towards redline. The trade-off there is later onset of boost. From what weistec said, I don't think there is a huge power-potential difference between the turbo in the 19+ vs the pre-facelift turbos. The changes seem to be more targeted toward better efficiency rather than outright power. If there's any advantage to be had for a tune on the 19+, it's going to all be in that midrange, where you can take advantage of those bigger efficiency islands.
