Advice. STRAIGHT PIPE
Hey guys.
I am not really savvy with mechanics. But I have a question. I want to make my car louder and meaner in sound. Is it bad to get the muffler and resonator deleted and have a straight pipe installed. Also , if i get a straight pipe will my driving modes still work including comfort and sports plus or will it be the same exhaust note in all modes. Please assist . Anyone have videos of straight pipe on c43 would be good as well

then I would cut out resonator first and see how you like it.
OR buy the asr module that allows you to open the valves in the exhaust 100% which will make the exhaust louder. The car stock does not fully open valves unless you are over 4500 rpm in sport plus
If you straight pipe the car you will loose the ability to close the valves to make the car quite when you want to.
the car will sound different in sport plus because of the pops and bangs but overall sound should be similar. The reason why the car is not as loud stock in comfort and sport is because the valves in the exhaust are not as open

My car has the performance exhaust but retrofitted so i have no control of the valves they are always open.
it is considerably louder than stock, especially at lower RPM.
i would try ASR module first and then mid muffler delete if not happy. I wouldnt feel comfortable chopping up the exhaust lol.

Be prepared for the cabin drone with the muffler delete though. Some say it was annoying... others say it wasn't bad at all. With the Res and the ASR you can actually change up the tone with the flaps fully open, closed, or stock..

Like others have stated, I would start with a resonator delete. That will make your exhaust about 25% louder with the pops being significantly louder. If that’s not enough, you can go tune and downpipes. The PE mufflers are nice to have. You would regret losing the ability to close your exhaust valves when you have company in the car.
I will post an in-car video of my PE with resonator delete here in a few days.

All you can really hear is wind and tire noise. I need to do a half throttle video next. You might be able to hear the exhaust switch on in the middle of the video if you have a good stereo. Filmed it with my iPhone.

How old is your car? How many KMS?
I have yet to go beyond break in period which is 1650kms ie 1000 miles. I presume after that is when I should do the resonator delete?

Sounds great, I could notice the difference. Admittedly because you did point it out, but I could tell.

Timing wise, you can do the resonator delete whenever you want. It has zero effect on performance or your engine.
This is what it looks like on the inside.

Its good to know someone so knowledgeable can be so helpful and kind to assist those that are not. There is karma.
After plenty of reading and research, I was thinking of doing the resonator delete and install the Active Value Control, considering its a simple plug and play add on. (lol, yes I have been doing my homework)
As I am still running in, I have yet to put the car in SPORTS+ with the Valves open at above 4500RPM. I am in for a treat very shortly.
