Why the hate of the C43?

Why the hate...?
When the c43 first came out, I was confused as to why C43 AMG as well, since there already was a C63 AMG. Then I remembered, they did have 2 AMG versions of the SL and CL, one with a v8 and another with a v12. I don’t know if there was “hate” with that. The S-class also has two AMG versions an S63 and S65... I doubt if there’s hate there too. But, back in 2008 when I first got a C-class, there was no other AMG version except for the C63 AMG. There was a C300, and if you wanted more power but can’t afford the AMG, there was a C350. I have always been fine with that... I try to get the highest model among the line up, just right before the C63 AMG.
I really don’t get why all of a sudden, when the execs at Mercedes decided to add another AMG version on the C-class line-up, some people had a lot to say against it... some of them neither drive a C43 nor a C63!
I guess it’s because, some people will just hate no matter what... that’s it...! This world is just full of haters! Hate on this, and hate on that... Heck, I hate too! I hate people who drive a Prius (Prii if you have more than one)! I hate how they brake early to “regenerate” energy, but would wanna race you off a stoplight (so much for saving on power and gas)! I hate people who insist on crossing a 6-lane street and take their time when they only have 4 seconds left on the crosswalk timer! I hate how people just leave their E-scooters all over the place for people to trip on, mkay (where the hell do they even come from, nobody knows...) I hate CEO’s that always tell their “measly” employees, they have to cut on labor and can’t afford to give raises nor benefits, because they have an “obligation” to their “shareholders” only to find out they’re one of the highest single shareholder of the company! Hate, hate, hate... Yippee, hate!
Haters will hate...

2019 AMG C43 Sedan
It would be much simpler if car makers just put the name or logo of their company on the cars they produce instead of all the confusing names and numbers and letters. Back in the day you could by a Ford convertible, which at one time they called a sunliner, or if it was a retractable roof it was a skyliner. Chevy just called theirs convertibles. Ford had Galaxies, Galaxie 500 and 500xl. Chevy had a Belair and Impala. These are just a few examples. I am sure you can come up with many more.

I actually feel sorry for you and here is why. I’ve discussed the issue of people who post on forums with intent to be derogatory towards others while trying to prove why they are superior. He says that people who do this have a neurosis. It’s a neurosis called a grandiose narcissist. He says these people must seek prestige and have a need to brag about their possessions in order to cover an inner emptiness. He also states these people have very high rates of depression. I’m guessing you’re a lot like my neighbor with the Lambo Murcielago. Every time he goes anywhere he has to pull his car out into the street and sit there and rev it real loud for about 5 min before he takes off. Then when he comes back he does the same thing before he parks it. Of course he also has to get out with his muscle beach shirt on and show off all his muscles. I’m sure he thinks he’s really cool but I can assure you none of the neighbors do.I bet a lot of us C43 owners feel the same way I do. I bought the car because it ticks the right boxes, regardless of the label. I would’ve been happier is they just called it a Donkey, with no MB star. I don’t like drawing attention to myself and I certainly could have bought any car MB sells, but this is the car I wanted.
Who cares? If you like what you drive, don't give two ****s about what anyone else thinks about it. You're all acting like a bunch of insecure high school kids. Nobody cares what the badge on your trunk says, unless that's the only way you find value in your existence.

2021 Mercedes C63s AMG Coupe
I am thankful. It is the best thing that ever happened to me. This car is solely responsible for an unprecedented amount of happiness to the likes of which I have never known. You can call it whatever you want.

Oh, I don't know. I actually LOVE the Prius. Not because I'd enjoy owning one...no, I LOVE it because when other people have a Prius, it means that I could sleep a little better at night knowing someone out there will be offsetting the carbon footprint of cars that are actually fun, fast, and still make a pleasant sound under acceleration

There are people who are going to stick to 1 man 1 engine history. Mercedes is not getting rid of that as they sell less C63 models than they do regular C-Class models. For years, Mercedes has offered a sportier C-Class but did not see the numbers in sales. Fact is, many people just didn't think much of the C350 Sport while Mercedes saw Audi and BMW sell more and more of their cars with the S or M badge on the back. The C450/C43 is more than just a badge on the back. Mercedes created 2 new engines. The 3.0L Twin Turbo and the 4.0L Twin Turbo in the C63/63s which is also found in other AMG models.
The C450/C43 AMG was created to compete with BMW and Audi and to offer people an intro the AMG brand. So the engine was tuned by AMG, Transmission was tuned by AMG, the front suspension is taken right from the C63, the exhaust was tuned for the higher performance, sound and AMG put their badge on the car because they changed it up and separated it from the C300/C400 models. It's Mercedes and AMG eating their cake as they go for a chunk of the BMW and Audi market. We can't forget that Lexus and Infinity has also done the same things. Yes, it's part marketing however it's more than a badge for Mercedes and it's a slap in the face to AMG as they look to showcase their cars.
The C450/C43 engine is mass produced, nano protected for AMG use and shipped to order. AMG has always done the same things to Mercedes and that is to take a basic Mercedes and create an experience of owning an AMG. I guess from this post everyone will also hate on the E53 AMG which will also be a mass produced engine which was tuned by AMG. I'm note sure why anyone cares that AMG has 3 models for the C-Class and 3 Models for the E-Class.
In the end, Mercedes and AMG are bridging the company more closer together in the way that Audi, BMW, Lexus has done it.
So remember the C450/C43 is more than just badge. It's still a hard driving car with great performance and will beat most cars from light to light as a surprise.
Enjoy what Mercedes and AMG are bringing to the market. It's a tough market and almost every manufacture plays in it now.

Is very sad but at the end is all a question of money. You got it, you go for the best, you don´t then you go for a different option
Sometimes the ones who go for a different option will allways be trying to defend and convince theirselves that was the best option, even better than the option they would´ve gone if they could. This has been clearly represented in this post
Kind Regards

If it really boils down to money, and whether you have it or not... If this is truly the case, then which is worse, Mercedes slapping an AMG badge on a car they designed and built, or someone trying to make their c63 look like an ED1 and turn it from a MY17 to MY19?

The official stance is if it says AMG, it’s an AMG. For those saying it’s not an AMG, it’s more than HP numbers. You guys need to drive them. Come on guys.

I think it depends on what the reasons why the C63 owner did it? If it was because aesthetically they like it then thats their right and prerogative, but if they did it merely to have the "latest" look then thats another issue.

I can definitely understand the “aesthetics” reason, and even wanting the “latest” look. My intent was to point out the hypocrisy and ridiculousness of some people calling out the c43 as fake or not a “real” AMG, and yet set theirs up to be an ED1 or something “newer” when it’s not. As you mentioned, it is their right and prerogative. With the c43, the prerogative of calling it an AMG wasn’t even upto the buyer. Mercedes made that decision. The same way Mercedes made the decision to slap a 63 badge to designate engine displacement when it’s not a “real” 6.3l engine.
I think the naming should have been based on the number of cylinders, like ours would be a C63 and the 63 cars would be C83. I mean to MB owners, we know and understand whats going on, but the general public would have no idea whatsoever.

Well if it helps, my C450 has amg stamped tips and my mufflers indicate amg too
