C43 2017 Wont crank/won't start!

Hi Guys
I am very new to the site. I bought a C43 2017 brand new 8 months ago running fine till the last couple of days ago.
so far twice happened when starting the Engine it won't crank or do anything.
then I waited a min then try again the engine starts fine.
I haven't phoned the dealer yet. but does anyone experience this issue?
Please help..

Thanks in advance.
John

Maybe you should have phoned the dealer first?

Is the battery dead? Does it make any sounds? Does it sound like the engine is choking or just silence?

When I hit the start button the dashboard lights come on but Engine is silence.
then I wait after 30 seconds and try again then Engine starts ok.
I don't understand what this could be..

Dont need to understand what it is, take it immediately to the dealer its still under warranty.

Sounds like an ECU fault of some sort.

Dumb question, but is your brake pedal fully pressed in when hit the button to start?

There's no such thing as a dumb question on this board.

Actually if you press START and right away you depress the break pedal the engine will stop. For some reason the ECU will stop the ignition process if you don't wait a few seconds after the pressing START + break. :nix:

Yeah, like others have said, just make sure you depress fully. It's sensitive like that...

And for me, an intermediate-length full press of ignition, never hold or quickly release the button.

I would bet it a Mis-adjusted brake light switch or the car has lost some vacuum. The brakes use engine vacuum and if it sits when you press the brake peddle it's not enough to activate the brake light switch so the ECU tells the engine e to crank, safety thing. Try really pressing hard and if it cranks go to the dealer and have him find the vacuum leak or adjust the brake light switch. My wife's MB had this problem

I agree with making sure the brake pedal is fully engaged. Also is the key inside the car fully? I sometimes am in a hurry and just stick my right foot in to press the break pedal and reach for the start button while the key is in my left pocket. The car doesn't read the key until I sit and put my left leg in. I do this when I run out to warm the car up.

Just a though!

Alex
