Rear Diffuser Question

Hey guys, new owner of a new-to-me C450 here. Have had the car for about 2 months and am loving it so far. My one gripe with it is the weak-a** looking rear diffuser and faux exhaust tips. So, after looking at the options out there and scouring these forums I've decided I like the look of the RW Carbon diffuser the most, link below:

https://www.rwcarbon.com/mercedes-w205-c63-brabus-style-carbon-fiber-diffuser.html

Now what I DON'T like about that diffuser is, you guessed it, the add-on faux exhaust tips that are like an extra $700. So my question is this, has anyone used this diffuser and instead of using the faux exhaust tips actually welded in real quad pipes? And if no one has done it, has anyone heard of it being done? Is it possible? From looking at the diffuser I can't imagine what would prevent an exhaust shop from doing this, even if it requires a little repositioning of the existing exhaust.

Anyway, hoping to hear thoughts on this before I pull the trigger. $1200 ain't no chump change for a cosmetic mod in my mind!

Ben

I recall someone doing a homemade DIY quad round exhaust tips on his car. Turned out pretty decent...

Yeah it did I saw that. I don't want to chop up the stock diffuser though.

I wouldn't buy anything from China that is a body part to put onto your car. I bought a rear diffuser and the fitment was horrible. Dont waste your money. Buy OEM and the fitment is impeccable.

One of those links went to ebay in Poland so not sure where the parts come from, the other was RW in California who imports from China, if you're buying from CA it's not so bad but that piece sure is expensive. In looking closely at the pics, especially one of the last ones, the actual exhaust tips would come out from that larger shaped opening so any tips or pipes could fit. I would say a good muffler/pipe shop could do what you want and re-route the exhaust through that area.

Cool that's what I was thinking. I think the RW Carbon diffuser would look saweeeeeet with some true quads poking out.

And the homie that posted the eBay link wasn't me. Random eBay parts aren't on option, lol.

Anyone have any other thoughts on this? Is anyone running real quad tips or are most using the c63 conversion?

Some people on here are running quad tips. If you search this forum, you'd find a couple of threads. I can't remember exactly who

Humm, that first picture really hurts, doesn't look like it crushed the metal, only the plastic bumper fascia, too bad. But I do get it that you were trying to show the quad pipes. Other side of the car looks great.

LOL, I had the same reaction last time I posted that. It's actually just the way the sun is reflecting. Looks like crazy bad swirl marks
but my car is ceramic coated and looks pristine in person. Just a bad pic but ya, just wanted to show you the quad tips.

Car looks great but those are exactly the kind of tips I dont want. When I say "real quad tips" I mean tips that are actually welded to the rest of the exhaust. Also, what I'm thinking of doing with the RW Carbon diffuser might be cheaper in the end... Maybe?

Yes I realize what you are looking for but you'll likely need to do a custom job in order to get what you are looking for. I had a 2012 c63 black series and even that car had these types of "faux" tips.

Thanks. Diffuser is mode carbon but painted gloss black. Tips are oem from the dealership. I think the diffuser was about $1,200 and the tips about $700 for the pair. You need 2 oem brackets too to get it to fit as this is for the c63 sedan so the different brackets are required. I'm happy with the outcome for sure. The spoiler is Brabus.
