All C-Class sedans for the North American market are produced in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. There's also a plant in East London, South Africa and once in a while a sedan for the North American market comes from there. Coupes and Cabs are all made in Bremen, Germany, as well as some sedans for the European market.
Here's a good PDF with all of Mercedes' production locations and where what is made.

My Alabama-built C43 is the worst car I’ve had in the last 10 years. That’s including a lemon that BMWNA officially bought back from me.
I’ve been in Chicago taxis with better build quality.

You can check your VIN to find the country in which it was built. This is a tiny bit outdated, but you can google "VIN decoder country of origin Mercedes" and get something similar.

These Alabama comments kinda have me spooked! Can anyone comment on the build quality of the C43 coupes( which are made in Germany)? Currently waiting for my factory order.

My 2018 C43 Coupe is from Germany, has everything except for the perfume and the cool air for the seats because I have sports seats.

I still say you can't beat German built overall.

I do have some concern about where the car is assembled. There are local and cultural differences as it relates to quality work, attention to detail, and and overall work ethic. Call it stereotyping if you want, but there are some general truths about how workers from one country to the next and one culture to the next actually go about their jobs.

The East London Factory, produces de right hand drive units and also for certain EU markets Sedan version, and some Asian markets I think.
For instance for the Spanish market the sedan it's produced in East London, then by ship arrives to north west of Spain, Vigo city harbour and then distributed to any spanish dealer from there.
I think last year, East London, begun to produce also the C63 AMG.

Really? Nothing biased or bigoted, it's simply the reality. It's been researched and there are peer-reviewed studies that confirm that work ethic is not equal across cultures (one such example http://www.aabri.com/manuscripts/10678.pdf) .... If the truth scares you, that's your personal problem.

I have two family members with an Alabama-built C300 and a GLE400. Both have had build quality issues. Unused buttons from the center console fell off on the GLE because they were literally glued. But someone forgot to use enough glue.
C300 has flimsy trim, among other things.
All anecdotal. One of the family members had a German-built E-class before the GLE. Flawless build quality.

You're just a special kind of stupid aren't you? That was just one, and it is peer-reviewed and cited (maybe look up what that means, you obviously don't know). The very concept has been studied repeatedly, and there are numerous published studies and articles out there by sociologists and psychologists (Katz, Kaplan, Hass, Mertz, etc.) Of course, don't let science or research hurt your precious little feelings about how you wish the world was. I'm not even going to try and be nice; you are just a moron who adds nothing to the various threads you post-***** in. You tried to inpugn some sort of bias or bigotry to me based on what I said and given that you know absolutely jack sh*t about me personally, I'm more than a little annoyed at your insinuation. I'm not gonna sit here and debate research with you. If honest, academically validated truth "scares" you and somehow, someone who merely references it "scares" you, then maybe you should avoid human contact and stay secluded in your parent's basement, because the world will be a very, very scary place for you indeed. Go be a keyboard SJW somewhere else. /done

And it is crap. My German-built C63, however, was only ever in service for 5 oil changes and tire swaps in 5 years. Thing was built like a tank.

I'll be taking delivery of my third W205 tomorrow, the first one was bought back because the sport suspension I ordered (and was charged for) was not installed on the car. The second car was flawless in three + years of ownership, I guess we'll see how the next compares.

I've had two cars lemon law'd in the last ten years, both German cars, a US built W205 and a German built VW R32.
