If you don't, the dealer will see that fault stored as soon as they plug into the car.
I’ve cleared it with the OBDII device but it keeps coming back. I have seen the screen say stored! I’ll try the battery option first. I feel that if I take the car to a shop they are going to want to “fix” the issue.

I did the ECU reset, left battery unplugged for about 20min. Put everything back together and so far no cel/code!

Thanks everyone for the help in clearing this issue. Great community! Saved me a few hundred bucks by not going to a shop!

Im going to let the car learn to work with the intakes and report back!

This is there response: I dont think they understood the sensor issue

Thanks for the reply. We checked the forum and integrated the issues as the following pointsThe reasons for the P1191 Check Engines Light (CEL) Code - 1) O2 sensor been connected/disconnected. 2) Nowaday Mercedes Benz have the most sensitive protection system and it would turn into safe mode once plugs being remove or disconnected. A fault code remove action is needed and the ECU will adjust the air fuel ratio after decode. Most factory engine tuned with rich air fuel ratio. Our induction system give more airflow and oxygen to the engine, which means satisfy the combustion need to optimize condidtion(combustion efficiency). Exhaust pop sound would reduce but still able to notice. (Pop sound cause from rich airfuel ratio). On the other hand, turbo spooling sound and induction sound becomes another new symphony in your cockpit. After we back from Taipei AMPA show, we will add notes to our website as well as the C43 intake installation instruction. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.Thanks again for keep us posted. Hope you enjoy your our product and new performance on your car!

I know I can read the codes with my JB4, but does anyone know where to find a comprehensive list of codes and definitions? I have looked online, but come up short for w205 series.

So I started my car after it had been sitting for 2 hours after a long hard drive and the Cel for code P1191 came BACK ON! Any other ideas as to how to resolve this issue??

GLE 45
Would any board member know or can confirm if this intake would fit on the GLE 450 & 45 Amg models?
I suspect it would but if someone experienced can comment or confirm.

Thank you

Did the intake come with extensions for the sensors to the air filters? Could they be backwards (wires swapped) or installed the wrong way? Some of those clips can be forced in the wrong way, though i havnt looked at that specific clip.

Are people getting CEL's tuned?

And those without issue not?

Just trying to understand what's going on here

I'm tuned, I don't think I would have messed up the extensions. I don't see how you can force them in the wrong way. At this point I'm lost and just want my car to be back to normal, lol. Its a shame few days before the intakes I was out racing with my buddies 2012 C63 P31 rated at 481HP and keeping up and taking him from the line. Now I'm in LIMP mode and he wants to run again!!

This is insane. There is no way that MST should be "taking note" of the issue. Is anyone else experiencing the same? I am keeping mine boxed up in anticipation of sending it back. I emailed them the link to this thread.

That's not how you clear codes on these cars. You may need to find an adequate shop that has a Xentry unit to clear the code completely. Or else the code is still stored even if the CEL is temporary gone.

I am tuned but no CEL from the MST intake.

I would also recommend let the ECU go to sleep before installation to prevent a CEL.

Response from MST......"Hi Marcus, Thanks for your feedback, we understand your concerns as well as other customers who ordered the C43 intake. Now we need to collect all information to figure out the problems and find a solution as soon as possible. Also we will contact every customer who bought this intake once we back to the office on the next coming Monday. Sorry for the wait. We spoke to a local Mercedes Benz engineer, which regarding the CEL issue. We wonder is your car C43, C400 or C450? This might be the reason why the check engine light would be on. Please let us know. Many thanks! "

I got a c450

i mean I’ll throw in my 2 cents on it— but I really just think they used a grommet that wasn’t air tight.

not to mention the right side was much tougher to fit then the passenger side.

Overall— meh— butt Dyno don’t feel it— but the drive feels smoother (that first to second). But still getting over the loss of my exhaust “misfire”. But take in consideration— a tune might make this intake more efficient.

I drive a c400, I’m tuned, stock Downpipes! No issues what’s so ever before the intake install.

After sealing the grommet the car felt much better! I can hear the turbos now but you have to listen for it! I truly can’t give feed back until I drive the car with out the P1191 Cel.

I hope MST really works on this issue!

I haven't installed mine, yet. I do think they should "fix" whatever it is at no cost to the customer. BMS has done this with their design flaw, AFAIK.

Are you the guy that posted photos on the FB page with fitment problems? Didn't get that resolved? That fitment seems off. Mine is perfectly aligned.

As for the exhaust, drive it for a few days. Let the ECU relearn. Even lock the car at night. The exhaust sounds should be back. Mine are unchanged. There was another guy on FB that complained of losing the pop/bang. We been msg'ing and he said its back.

I am taking my time, not to mention these issues that are coming up. I have a JB4 and still haven't ran anything aside Map 0. I am gathering baselines as I do my build.

From MST.....

Hi Marcus,
Sorry for replying late. We are all back to the office today and started getting in touch with all C43 intake buyers. We have talked with some customers earlier, and we think the CEL issues that people discussed a lot mainly occurred to C400, C450. From the feedback we received, C43 car users didn't have this problem. So you could unpack and install it, and please make sure follow the instructions below: 1. Switch the ignition off2. Open the hood and trunk, check the location of the car's main battery, disconnect it and left for about 15 minutes to let your car completely turn off. (This way ECU will clear the using history, so it wouldn't trigger CEL with a code P1191)3. You may start installing with our installation instruction. On the other hand, we will be doing a thorough test for each car model to find out the core problem of how the CEL happened. We are now integrating issues so that we are able to know what we can do for you.
