Well I going to button up the install this weekend and will make a full thread but so far intake has been amazing.

Better throttle response increase sound and power with no issues of heat soak according to JB4 intake Temps.

I swear it changed the exhaust pitch at maximum revs also.

So you did not experience any issues with CEL light going off?

This is great news, thanks for the update. I am interested in getting this intake as well.

Great to hear some feedback from a fellow Ma$$hole- rock on

Good day!~
For these days, we do receive some feedbacks.
Few C450 have the P1191 issue but they might have some solve way.
And mostly the performance feedback is good.
Some of them and our dealer shop all mention us about the extension wire just have little difference between upside and downside.
Also when the extension wire installed, please check if it twists that also might get an error.
The issue might have not just one reason to result.
So, we will as possible as the detail to update on the installation guide.
Before the install, please follow the steps:
1. close the fire total
2. Open the hood and trunk
3. Lock the door
4. Disconnect the main battery (Some vehicle main battery is hiding into the trunk)
5. Wait for 15 mins.

Then we could start the install safety.

Mercedes and BMW
That is exactly what MST responded with the customers who purchased the first batch. They also sent in pics to ensure they are wired correctly in avoidance of the P1191 code.

I heard back from them and this was their message. Basically they said only C450 and C400 were affected and all the C43 customers didn't have any issues. Any C43 owners have problems after installing this intake?

We now have some data on how to resolve the issues.
For the first issue, the code mostly occurs on C450 and C400, these two vehicles.

We had a discussion with a Mercedes engineer and an ECU tuning specialist last week. We then came up a result and a new solution which customers need to follow the steps below before start installing:

1. Switch the ignition off
2. Open the hood and trunk, check the location of the car's main battery, disconnect it and left for about 15 minutes to let the car completely turned off. (This way ECU will clear using history, so it wouldn't trigger CEL with a code P1191)

Some cars will stop making burble or the popping sound not that loud as before, because of fuel efficiency becomes better after installing new intake system.
Same as the #1, driving for two more days, it will back to how it was. Our suggestion is you could also find a mechanic to tune car's ECU, to maximize horsepower, and louder popping sound.

The first batch of C43 intake customers feedbacked it works fine and have no problems.

Warranty?

I know this question must come up often, but I got my eye on this particular intake and I was wondering what MB service will say when I bring my car in for check ups. Any finger pointing or voided warranties to be expected?

If your car went in service for CEL related to MAF sensor, then they will blame you. Best to put back stock air box before going in.

If it's for oil change, I don't see why they would care.

How does one clean an MST filter? Is it the same type of filter media as a K&N?

They are a dry type filter element and do not use oil. MST used to have a page on their website with instructions on cleaning their filters, but it's been gone for quite a while. MST's instructions were exactly the same as the instructions AEM has for cleaning their dryflow filters.

1) Remove the filter, and tap it on a surface to shake loose the larger dirt and debris.
2) Use a spray air filter cleaner (you can buy AFe, AEM, and K&N cleaner at most of the big-box auto parts stores) and spray the outside of the filter. Remember your looking for and using the cleaner, not the oil.
3) Let the cleaner sit for about 10 minutes or so, but don't let the filter dry, so you may have to reapply cleaner to keep it from drying out.
4) Run water through the filter, inside-out.
5) Gently shake out the excess water or use low-psi compressed air. Set the filter aside and allow it to air dry. It should be dry to the touch before you reinstall it.

Here is an older video of the process.

I think it’s still the dry filter element.

Quick review. Didn't see much change in IAT.. I'm thinking probably because the stock IAT sensor is at the TB after the intercooler. So, the IAT reading is basically the efficiency of the intercooler.

However, saw nice gains in boost pressure. Previous log with the stock airbox (with K&N inserts) saw huge boost decrease after hitting max boost 22psi. With MST, boost holds much better after hitting max 22psi.

The stock airbox log is done months ago @ 20C ambient temp. 1st to 5th gear WOT pull.

The MST log was from today @ 32C ambient temp. 2nd to 5th gear WOT pull.

If your not familiar with the JB4 log, the blue line is the turbo boost in psi.

As for sound, I really can't hear anything becuase I have a full catless exhaust system with weistec BOV. Both are just obnoxiously loud. LOL.

Car is stage 2 ECU tuned on 93oct gas.

Only regret is that I wasn't able to Dragy before and after. Got the call at mid night that the kit is available. Went to MST for install the next day.
What year is your car and what exhaust did you get? I have the 2019 and I am looking for an exhaust that sounds mean.

Just make sure the extensions are connected the right way! I got a CEL: switched them to the correct way and it solved the issue!!

I installed the mst intake yesterday and I must say, it sounds horrible. I recall someone saying it sounds like an old toilet and i hate to say it but that is spot on. I only hear it in 2-4th gear at under 4k rpm, but when I do it makes this horrible gasping for air sound that at the same tome sounds like something scratching to fet out from under the hood. I know that makes no sense, but this is my initial 24 hour impression. I really hope my install is to blame, but then again I had this professionally installed so i’m leaning towards removing it in a week unless something changes. I would really like to hear some of your thoughts on this before ripping this thing out.

2018 C43 coupe. Weistec DP + FI exhaust. Highly recommend the FI exhaust if your car didn't come with the PE. It's a true dual pipe with valve control - on/off/rpm controlled. You set what rpm the valve fully opens. I set mine to open @ 2500rpm. With the valve closed, the car is quiet as a mouse and no drone cruising on the hwy. I love it!

BMS was the same (probably worse) - people commented who rode along. it was bad. won't change either
