Major Transmission Issue
 

I was accelerating today from a stop, lightly on the gas pedal and all of a sudden the car gave a solid jerk. I believe the car was thrown into neutral (it certainly felt like it), the revs completely dropped, the check engine light came on. This lasted for no more than 2 seconds and the CEL went away and the car is back to normal. This happened 1 other time a few months back. Has anyone had this happen to them? Is this an issue with the transmission? Super confusing since it was no more than a 2 second ordeal. Thinking of taking the car into the dealer to see why the car threw a CEL. If anyone could help that would be great.

Someone else had a similar post here at some point in the last year. I had this same thing happen once in the first 10k miles or so. Came and went in less than a block, haven't had an issue since.

Take it to the dealer, let them figure this out

Sounds like the typical bunny-hop issue minus the CEL.

This is one thing I love about manuals....

This happened to me once and took it to the dealer and the verdict was when it happened my gas light was on and car was low on gas and for a second gas didn’t get pumped to the engine or something and seemed like the car stalled and the light came on and went away!
