C43 = C450 ?

Hi All,

My first post on this forum!

I'm taking delivery of my C43 next month, and was wondering if the C43 is basically called a C450 in Germany or in the factory. I took down the VIN for the test car which was a 2019 model (with new look, i.e. facelift) and ran it on EPC and C450 popped up as its description.

Just wanted to find out if anyone here knows the story behind this.

Thanks!

C43 has a 9 speed robot
C450 7 speed robot

Thanks for that info. However, I’m just wondering why running the VIN of a 9 speed C43 on the EPC, it is called a C450 from factory instead of a C43.

Perhaps those of you with 2019 C43 can try running your VIN on EPC online and see what comes up?

C450s were the predecessor to the C43s. That answers your question. P'bly never updated the database.

On all of my auto insurance documents for my 19 C43 the VIN is shown as a C300 4MATIC.

This. My first-gen FR-S registration/insurance docs only said "Toyota Scion Coupe." The databases are not always correct and fully up to date.

Okay, that’s interesting. However, insurance databases aside, I find it unusual that Mercedes’ own database says it’s a C450. I guess internally, Mercedes still regard the model as a C450 instead of an AMG C43.

Basically in short yes... The C43 replaced the C450. So the C43 is AMG inspired like the C450 was.

My car comes up as C45 on my owner papers and on AMG Private site it comes up as C43 however my insurance has it as C450.

That’s a nice touch. However, having read the forum over the last few days I realised that some of you have your cars on some sort of a lease arrangement, would one then be eligible for the AMG Private Lounge if you submitted your name on the website? I would imagine the name of the owner would not match up because the car would be owned by the leasing company.

AMG Academy pass has been updated to 50% for 43 buying/leasing new. I've also received a free AMG Project One calendar and owner submitted photo collage depicting the AMG GTR.

That depends on where you live. It is still covered in Germany.
