Just had my first ever blow out on the highway.

I was traveling at about 70mph and hit some kind of divit or pothole and blew a huge chunk out of my tire.

Yikes!
I hope everyone is ok. Seeing these kinds of damage always make me think, had it not been runflats would you still have the same tire damage. I’m sure you’re not the only one who hit that pothole, or object on the road. I know I’ve had my fair share of hitting potholes and metal parts scattered all over the road. Bent rims and alignment jarring hits, but I have yet to damage a non run flat tire bad enough not to get to my destination... knock on wood!

Yes state police and mass dot knew about it but did not fix it in time so I hit it.


Waste of time but I am going to try and get some compensation.

I really don’t understand why MB keep insisting on the stupid runflats! The car rides much better on normal tires and the risk of a sidewall blowout is much smaller!
