Travel Time?
I finally got a date that my car was built on Dec 10th. It was a sedan so it was built in Alabama in the US. I am in Southern CA. Anyone know how long it takes once built to ship to the dealer on the west coast? My anxiousness builds as time gets closer now. Took the rest of the month off from work. Hoping it would come before the month end so I can enjoy it before work starts....

There are no factory deliveries for US built cars. The cars actually still go through the VPC closest to the destination for final preparation. For Cali that's Los Angeles and from there it gets trucked to the dealership. One cannot pick up the car at the VPC, either. It'll spend some time at the VPC. Things like Homelink, Wheel locks etc get installed at the VPC, at least that's the case for EU built cars.

I would have loved to go pick it. Would have helped in putting that initial 2k break in miles on it. But stranded with some work at home. But seems can’t go pick up in the US based on last post. I will hope for the best. Couldn’t imagine the train journey taking more than 7 days. But if it has some assembly in Los Angeles then probably will be 3 weeks or more.

Your car will ship by rail to the Longbeach VPC. It takes forever and there are no updates in transit like there are with the vehicles that travel by ship from Europe. Our C450 took over 5 weeks to get to PDX from Vance.
