C450 Renntech HHT ecu upgrade 402HP / 454TQ or alternative.
I'm thinking about buying this!
I did a search and didn't get the information I needed, is there someone who purchased this, it looks like not many upgrades are sold by Renntech.
The gains are 35 HP and 80 Nm torque.
Has anyone bought this, what are your experiences, is the ecu upgrade noticeable, is it worth the money (2,500 euros)?
All experiences are welcome.
Regards,
Jack.
2,500 Euros seems pretty steep for 35HP increase. I'm running JB4's plug-and-play tune (~$750 USD with bluetooth adapter) for about two months and have no complaints. Running 93 oct on Map 2 (out of 6-7 maps).

I recently purchased the Renntech HHT Tuner for my 2020 C43 AMG and you can definitely feel the difference. The car drives much better with the tune and I am enjoying the increase in HP and TQ. With the HHT the installation process was a breeze and took less than 3 minutes. You can also switch back/forth between tune and stock. The tune is not cheapest but I am pleased with the purchase.
Renntech Support has also been great as I had a few questions about the tune.

I believe there are better ways to spend 2500Euros on a tune.
Personally I believe you should go with:
1. A more popular with more users that can provide more feedback and recorded results (dragy or timeslips).
2. A closer or local tuner with a canned tune so they could be close enough to provide support.
With regards to beable to flash back to stock, literally every tuner offers ODBII tuning now so you can flash back to stock anytime with this as well. You hook it up to your OBDII and press ok about 6 times and your car is tuned/back to stock.
Piggybacks have also offered the ability to go back to stock since the beginning of time, so this feature is not something you should be concerned about.
Also you should realize that 35hp for 2500 is utterly ridiculous. The 35hp gained is slow small that Renntech could warranty the tune for 4yrs because it barely does anything to the engine. Dont be fooled by thinking their limited warranty for a 35hp 2500Euto tune is any sign of magnificent engineering (even though they are an excellent company).
Also, regarding user feedback. You also need to realize there is more to how a tune feels than just the horse power. There is also "pedal amplification". Many tunes have this baked into the tune. It enhances the illusion of your car feeling more powerful without actually delivering more power. Just by increasing the sensitivity of the throttle.
To judge how GOOD a tune is, you should look at 100-200kph times (or 60-130mph) and 1/4 mile times and trap speed. Everything else is too unreliable, including 0-60 times and dynos.
