Coupling flash tunes with JB4
Hey guys!
Have any of you on here tried/know someone who has tried coupling a full flash tune with a JB4 on top of it? Curious as to see what kind of gains are available with such a setup.

we have done a ton of them for a good amount of the population. I haven't seen any amr customers stacking

I'm also curious to know about what you "heard" regarding AMR being trash.
Nothing wrong with AMR whatsoever and AMR seems to be the only true reliable tune. In fact you'll see EC customers pop up sometimes to complain about misfires and whatnot and some go get an AMR tune afterwards. I never once saw an AMR tuned customer complain and then go get a EC tune.

we have actually tuned quite a few amr cars recently. I assume you are talking about the 2 recent ones on the fb groups? one was a bad pedal sensor, and the other ran into problems with a bad ground he added for a radar detector (he didn't actually go to amr like he indicated after he flashed stock and had the same issue). Both presented the same issues with the vehicle when flashed stock. We have done a few thousand 43's, if we had a problem with the software we would have seen it pretty quick!
Well anyhow, my bad to start taking your thread off topic op. Have you instead considered the rv3.1 tune instead? I think it's a couple more psi boost from what the comport tune has and includes the launch control. If you do the jb4 on top we'd love to hear about the results, but I imagine there's going to be some learning to do and tweak the custom map carefully.

Makes sense. Your best bet would be to ask on the fb group. The forums are pretty much dead
there are (2) 43 groups out there, check the one with the camo car as amr admins that one. Should be able to get you info.

The times I have seen it, it's not so that they could stack boost increase on top of boost increase. That could be accomplished with just the tune. Getting a tune and using the JB4 is generally for data logging or meth injection.

I got the COMPORT before I considered the rv3.1 because of ease of installation (no ecu movement), so since I got the COMPORT for the price that it is, I'm not sure about spending the exact same amount again cause I'd feel like I wasted it on what I have now, so I saw a post regarding coupling it with JB4 and was interested.

The BMS is a tuning tool compatible with the factory flash and all aftermarket flash maps. It can do as much or as little as you want.
With aftermarket flash tunes the first step is to log map0 with JB4 disabled, and post it or send it in, so we can see where improvements might be made for your specific application/fuel!

That makes sense, but when I went from a street tune to the rv3.1 I only needed to pay the difference, minus a discount they had during the time. Maybe it is worth asking if you're still interested. I shipped mine out with USPS flat rate one day shipping and it was not bad on the cost. Got my ECU back really fast.

I'll look around and see what I can find. Dude definitely said he brought the AMR flashed car to another tuner shop and they were shocked at how poorly the work was done.

It was a fairly recent post, I believe It was on this forum. I vaguely remember dude being pissed about AMR Canada? Or maybe he said the Canadian dude was the only place to go because some other affiliate screwed up his flash?

Despite being on FB, its actually a pretty informative thread.
dude posted his draggy logs and some additional info.
I asked a good friend who has been building and tuning crazy cars for years and before I could finish my sentence, he said Eurocharged. This guy had a 94 Supra, a Lexas IS with a 2jz swap and a hundai Genesis with a 2jz swap. He also had a SLS 550 AMG (12 cylinder beast) I think he has a boosted lambo now.
All this is to say, I trust his advice on this 10/10.
Once the chip limitations for the 2020's gets sorted out I'm definitely going EC.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Seems like garbage to me based on this thread and others I've read. Also I think EC has "engine protection" up to 50k. (I'm sure it's difficult to prove the tune effed your motor up, but it's more than AMR offers)

We get it- you're gonna go with EC 😂
*P.S that same logic you applied right there can be made with almost any brand... it's nothing new
