Farewell C450

Farewell C450
After a great 4.5 years with my 2016 C450 (w/ tune), I decided it was time for a change. I traded it in for a new 2021 M550i. This is my first BMW and am really enjoying it so far. The C450 treated me quite well, very few issues with the car, was rock-solid for me as my daily driver & on quite a few long road trips. Had some of the the early interior rattling issues that was fixed in one trip to the dealership and the rattling never came back for the rest of my ownership, one mechanical/engine issue that was fixed under extended warranty and one pothole-induced cracked rim. Other than these few items, no other issues with the car - I really enjoyed my time with it (especially with the tune). If anyone has any questions on my C450 experience or my new M550i, please feel free to shoot me a PM!

Congratulations. An upgrade in space and power for sure. BMW iDrive is an order of magnitude better than the COMAND you came from, you will like it.

my last car was a 2012 550ix with M package. The car goes through oil like crazy. Had to add a quart every 2 months or so and this is normal and expected according to the BMW service department. Just seemed strange to me. the car is much more comfortable than the 43amg and has tons of power. Enjoy!

Thanks! Yeah, I find myself sitting in the car for a half hour just navigating thru & playing around with all the various iDrive menus, settings, etc.

Isn't the m550i like ~80k or something? That's a full 20k more than my c450 sticker when I got mine in October 2015! I sure would hope it's a better car lol!

Yeah, I wasn't intending to portray they were at the same price point - my point was that I am leaving the C450 very happy with the 4.5 of ownership/experience I had with it and would highly recommend this C450/C43 platform to anyone considering it

Congrats on the new car. As a former owner of the current generation G30 540i, the comfort and interior materials of that car are excellent, and the 4.4L TTV8 is a beast full of power. Enjoy.

I too am departing with my C450, I just finalized my trade in after 5.5years of owning my C450. I Pre-ordered my C450 back in May 2015 and received it Sept 2015, I've experienced the same exact journey as foxberry did, one warranty repair (leaking front differential) and cracked wheels due to potholes (except, it happens 3 times for me, a person who frequently travels between PA and NY) other than that, the car has been very fun over the year, I have an AMR tune and AWE Tuning Touring Exhausts (which I will be parting out)
My C450 is at 61,000 miles and received an offer for $23K trade in towards a 2019 E63S with 7500 miles. The E63S is fully loaded with a MSRP sticker of $138K and I've negotiated the sales price down to $87,400. Can't wait to unleash the beast!
