Recall - what's this about?

Just received an email from Carfax announcing a recall on my '19 C43 sedan. Anyone know what this is about? Thanks.

Two recalls:

1.Daimler’s U.S. unit Mercedes-Benz USA said Saturday it is recalling 1.29 million vehicles sold since 2016 because software may fail to communicate correct vehicle location in the event of a crash. The recall covers some 2016- to 2021-model-year CLA-Class, GLA-Class, GLE-Class, GLS-Class, SLC-Class, A-Class, GT-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLS-Class, SL-Class, B-Class, GLB-Class, GLC-Class, and G-Class vehicles, according to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

2. Vehicles recalled: 2017 to 2021 Mercedes-Benz C300 and 2017 to 2020 AMG C43 and AMG C63 vehicles.

The problem: The front seat belt might not fully retract. If the seat belt does not fully retract, the occupant may find the operation of the seat belt inconvenient and not wear it, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The fix: Dealerships will check the retraction function of the front seat belts and, if necessary, adjust the damping foam within the B-pillars, free of charge.

yep, confirm that piece of junk seat belt, sometime can't even close the door. Doesn't bother me enough to switch my ride with a C300 for a day while they fix it. I'll probably get them all fixed next time I am there for oil change.

Yes, got the emergency call system recall alert for my C63 as well. That one is apparently going to be an OTA software update for us FL owners, so no trip to the dealership required. The seatbelt recall doesn't appear to apply to my VIN, though. Maybe it's only for the sedan. I have no seatbelt issues in my coupe, but I also have the "strangle" function activated which actively tightens the seatbelt after buckling it. Not sure if this is only a coupe/cab feature due to the seatbelt extender in those models.
