Performance Exhaust
Hey all - If you have the exhaust flaps button below your volume control, does that mean you automatically have the performance exhaust? My father has a 2018 GLC43 and I have a 2017 C43 Coupe (both have the exhaust flaps button) but mine sounds noticeably louder. Both cars are certainly stock. I was wondering if I have the performance exhaust and he doesn't perhaps?

Over the years, software updates performed did have some effect on the sound.
The other reason would be because one is a SUV and one is a coupé, I heard wagon is louder than sedan as well because of how open it is. The coupé is in between. Not sure if there is some truth to it.
As long as there is an exhuast valve button that means your vehicle is equipped with PE there is no denying that. If you want to see the physical thing, you could also see the retrofit thread :
https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...-complete.html where the member retrofitted the exhaust. In their pictures, they shown the differences in design of the two exhaust.

Interesting, I was planning to ask the dealer to do a software update to try and smooth out the transmission, but now I'm hesitant to try if it changes the exhaust. Thanks for the info.
Also, I have noticed that even with the PE switched off, in eco mode my car will have all kinds of burbles when I'm off the gas and decreasing speed at about 1500-2000 RPM. Found it really weird because it doesn't normally do that in Comfort mode. I literally thought the exhaust was broken!

Hmmm I don't experience that in my vehicle. Perhaps mention it next time during service (only if u don't like it) otherwise I doubt it is a big deal. Or on the flip side maybe I should mention it as it might be that there is something wrong with my vehicle instead of yours for not having that behaviour. Keep in mind that our cars have some piped in audio.
