Is c400 for me?
Hi!
I fell in love in c-class coupe since it was released. Now I think I have money to switch my '01 mx-5 for something new.
There is a c400 16' with 60k miles for sale in my country from first owner - all maintenece made by dealership. I’m looking for a good looking powerful coupe. Will c400 satisfy my needs? My expectations are low but I don’t want to be dissapointed after stretching my budget for a dream car. I know that c450/c43 were made to be a sports cars but I would have to pay 10k USD extra and an insurance is more than twice higher. What I am little worried is that it has airmatic suspension and warranty ran out 3 months ago. Is it really that expensive to use? If I get it I plan to ecu-tune it and lower with aftermarket links

Considering I haven't driven wither spec, it does seem the C450 gives you the full enthusiast experience that the C400 may be lacking.
0-60 performance is negligible and even more so if you are going to tune; so if you are just looking for speed then there really isn't much of a difference but i feel the way the cars drive will be different.
I think the best course of action would be to find a C450 to test drive (regardless of price just so you can have seat time in both to compare)
If the C450 is subjectively enough of an upgrade then you should hold back your purchase until that model comes into budget range.

I had the c400 previous to the c43. The air bags that rise and lower the car for the dynaminc modes and highway speeds are like $2000 a pop. Was a great sleeper debadged but I would go with the c450 at least.
