How to Clean Evaporator Coil in C43 AMG??
Hey Guys
Sorry if this has already been answered.
I have seen posts and videos of people using an access port to the evaporator coil under the dash near the cabin filter for a w205. My 2017 C43 does not have this. Have looked all over. What is the easiest way to access and clean the evaporator coil in my C43? The smell is horrible. Do I just pull out the cabin air filter under the glover compartment......and spray up into the void and hope I hit the coil? I tried spraying a full can of Klima in the engine bay...down the fan blades under the cabin dust filter. It smelled better for about a day. Then went back to horrible. I tried runnign the heater at full blast for 30min. And that didn't work either. I love this car and recently bought used. So far my only regret buying is the smell coming from the AC.

Service bulletin to clean
Hello, Mercedes has a service bulletin to fix this issue. If within your warranty period it is free if not, they pay 70% or so. I had mine done and it was only $70 to have it cleaned. I had it done over a month ago and still no smell. I have a 2016 C450.

PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)
There is also a lawsuit going in USA in regards to this mold issue.

This is such odd timing... I spent a few hours the other day looking into this exact issue. Mine has also started to smell occasionally.
Here is a great picture someone posted for a W205 where you can see the port - Picture
I was going to do it as well but for some reason cannot find a foam cleaner. No one seems to be carrying the item - . If anyone knows a similar product would love to hear it.
Echip, thanks for the clarification. I am still in warranty and didn't know the dealer would clean it out for you - I may just have them do it.

Thanks Echip. I will look into the service bulletin. But also would like to be able to clean this myself when needed because its just going to keep happening over and over again. wsboxer1 I appreciate the link but I have used that link and what's weird is in my neighbors 2017 C300 there is a access port just like the picture. In my 2017 C43.....no access port. Would love to know how to clean this myself vs relying on the dealer.
