Am I making the right choice by purchasing this c43?
New to the forum, wanted some insight from w205 owners to see that is a good financial decision. 11k miles 2018 selenite grey (unfortunately a sedan)
This however does include performance seats and exhaust.
has the options I want although it’s not “the perfect spec” I just want to see if there are things I should avoid or if it’s worth it.
I just turned 24 and I’m a college student so I don’t have much room to complain about specs, or to get into something newer at the moment being the car market is messed up.
I’ll attach some pictures, Please give me some thoughts.
cheers my friends.
Like I said some things I don’t like, but I can’t be too choosey being everything is rather scarce at the moment. (Not a fan of the small screen or the wood grain)

thanks for the suggestion, I just checked it out. Its a 2017 absolutely beautiful. Just about 40k miles and no performance exhaust. I know it seems like something small to get hung up on, but from what I've seen online its tough to find an exhaust that sounds good for the 43 cars.

Couple of positives:
- AMG seats
- red seat belts
- no glossy piano black, brown glossy should be better then standard
cons:
- no pe
- static led, you will notice why similar w205s have better active leds while on the road
- no coupe

yeah I noticed that too... I'm not sure what to do, I've been searching constantly and can't find the perfect spec for the right price w the right miles. as far as the wood grain concern, I hate to be that guy but I could do a carbon overlay just to make the color contrast work. regarding headlights I could see what im able to find used

Trust me, I used to really wanted the coupe and a few years later I'm glad I got the sedan instead. The coupe, although eye-catching at first, is a little too long and flat, which to me gives it a weird proportion and I don't think it looks handsome at all. It does look good after some aesthetics mods though, but that is also the case for the sedan version as well. Of course, looks are subjective, so you like what you like!
Honestly, if you don't NEED that car right now, I would hold off. Due to the used car market, or just car market in general right now, everything is over priced quite a bit so you're going to overpay. I don't know if this will get better soon though, since by the time it does, a lot of newer gens will have gone with a mild hybrid drivetrain, meaning that older generations might become more "valuable" thus keeping the price up as well.

*Update on C43 dilemma*
So after tons of research regarding pricing and availability, I've come to the conclusion that if I spend a bit more I can simply spec a new 2021 sedan. In the coming weeks this is my plan. I will keep y'all updated!

Good choice. Lot of guys pre-pandemic pre-chip shortages were able to get 15-20% off msrp on new c43 in states. I would try to target 10-15% off. I got mine 12% in Canada.

That is the plan, my Dad has been going to the same guy for years, and he bought two brand new cars in February on the same day. I'm not saying this to sound like a 'big shot' or anything like that, I'm just saying that in the sense that they will do what they can to get me a good deal since we are long time customers. That being said, I'm going to need a good deal since I'm paying for it 100% I'm not worried about interest rates they are pretty good about that.

You will have to pick from whatever the dealer has in the lot which as bonus, gives you better chance of discount being :
- end of model no more w205
- everyone's will be wanting the new w206
- dealers will be want to get rid of old stock specially previous gen- ask for 20%+ do 25%! (Probably not but no harm in trying) they will be saying chip shortage this and that but don't back down

No luck finding any new inventory near me. I will talk to the dealer and see what we can do.
Disregard that upper statement!
I actually did find a couple of cars I can try to talk them down on (They will most definitely play hardball)

That being said, since C-Class coupe and convertible are discontinued for next gen (until they come up with the CLE which replaces the E-Class coupe and convertible of next gen E-Class) the C205/A205 survives for one more model year in North America so you expect to see MY22 coupe and convertibles in the USA based on the 205 (so C205 and A205). The sedan however, will move to the W206 gen for MY22.

we will have to see where I decide to go with the decision, The spec on the c43 is perfect. On the other hand the c63 doesn't have the night pack or the black wheels. I may be too picky but ill have to see the kind of deal I can get at the same time

I know we're not a financial advice group here but unless $60k - $80k is change for you, I would highly suggest you invest that money instead. Starting that young will literally allow you to retire with millions of dollars by the time you're 50. I just can't stand to see younger people (I'm 32) waste their money on something that is quite fleeting and you can honestly still enjoy all of this once you've saved up a bit, buy a house, invest in a few things etc. Again, I'm just assuming here, you may have a lot of money so this may not even matter to you.
