JB4 Review

So here’s my review for those who have been thinking about obtaining the JB4 and those that are on the fence about getting the JB4, so in installation was incredibly easy, I found the few videos on YouTube so I was able to know the location of the sensors that needed to be tapped without actually looking at the direction included in the box. Everything was pretty much straightforward didn’t find the insulation hard at all, Took about 30 minutes with me taking my time routing the wire so it’s unnoticeable in the engine bay. Base on the videos they said the hardest part was running the wires from the JB4 to the OBD port underneath the dash, but I found this not to be so all, I took a razor blade cut a small X in the rubber grommet and the insulation behind it and instead of running the bigger end of the plug I fished a wire hanger through the hole and pulls it through from the inside of the car to the engine bay. Now watching one of the reviews on YouTube one of the installers said that that Map 1 he didn’t feel much of a difference, well that was not my case, I found a fair enough difference just using Map 1. So I’m anxious to see what Map 2 and above feels like. With that being said I do have two questions. Question one is I had the app open and it disconnected on its own, when I reconnected it it defaulted the Map back to 0, so my question is does the app have to be open in order for the JB4 to remember the last Map setting used? Or does it save it whether the app is open or not? My last question is currently the car is stuck, I do have the BMS intake, high flow cat downpipe. Is it safe to use Map 2 to with those upgrades? Or well I need much more to move to Map 2 ?

You shouldn't have issue running Maps 1, 2, and 3 with those mods + 93 octane fuel. IF you are still having issues email support at burgertuning and ask Terry and the boys what is going on. They can also review your CSV files to give insight into moving to the next Map setting.

Map2 is no problem for 93 octane. If you ever need advice we offer free tuning advice to JB4 customers just post up or email a JB4 log. Normally 40-90mph full throttle on a safe private track gives us enough info to evaluate everything.

Yes your map setting will always be where you last set it. I did a draggy logs with my jb4 with stock, map 1 and map 2. My best 0-60 was 4.09 with map 2 Brake boosting with a solid launch with zero slip.(traction control off) yesterday I tried map 3 trying to breake into the high 3sec 0-60 unfortunately now I have a lot of tire spin and car shift early into 2nd gear. Until I figure out how to re-learn how to launch on map 3. I won't do a full 1/4mile pass. But it feels much quicker than map 2. My car is otherwise stock btw

Second Run JB4 at Map 1

Last Run JB4 at Map 1

93 octane

For log evaluating we'd need the CSV, can't do as much with photos. But at quick glance nothing stands out as problematic there.
