Slight increase in resale value with no more V6 engine?

With the 2023 and on C43 and C63 AMG's not having a V6 engine anymore (moving to a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder), do you think that will help with the resale values of these used cars (2017-2022)?

I have seen a couple of people only looking at used cars since they were hoping for a continued V6 engine.

Any thoughts?

2018 Mercedes C43 AMG Coupe
A full 6.2L C63 AMG can be had right now for $22k CAD...

A 4.3L V8 C43 AMG can be had right now for $13k CAD...

Nobody is paying more for a slightly tuned Mercedes engine, even the W205 C63 isn't going to HOLD its price -- it will just drop slower.

It's the W202 C-Class AMG model, the first Mercedes-AMG built (post acquisition of AMG by Daimler).

Cars are depreciating objects.

Preowned car prices are softening now (read CarGurus and *** Automotive).

Lack of future V6 engine will have no effect on existing prices, or at the very most could have a small effect which means a slight slowing of depreciation. General price appreciation of a preowned V6 C-Class will not happen.

All good, you are fine. They are talking about the OG C 43, W202 C 43 4.3L V8 which back in the days the numbers corresponds with displacement.

Edit: Oops, already answered above.

2024 X5 M60i, 2018 C63S Coupe (sold)
I suppose it's possible, but I wouldn't expect much as the V6 is very solid but not particularly special - it doesn't make insane power, doesn't rev sky high, etc. Another thing to consider is the 4-cylinder in the W206 C43 is "hand-crafted" for whatever that's worth.

I think a more realistic scenario is someone opting to choose a used 2022 C43 instead of a new W206 C43 to save some money and get (arguably) a better-sounding engine and a very similar level of performance.

This place is a joke.
Wishful thinking. It will be nothing more than another older model Mercedes, that at some point will cost more to repair than it's worth.
