2020 C43 AMG Coupe
C43 Coupe vs E53 Coupe

My 2020 C43 Coupe lease is up in October. I am very happy with the car that I custom ordered, and it is loaded with options. I am looking for opinions on if I should buy out my lease or order a spec 2023 E53 Coupe. There aren’t many other choices among AMG coupes (not the 4 door coupe) and apparently there are very few order slot for the E53 coupe.

When I was at my dealer this week, they gave me what I though was a sales pitch when the salesman stated “do you really want an AMG that is out of warranty?” ie. Buying out my C43 with six months of warranty remaining.

I am open to starting a discussion.

Thanks,

These are assumptions.

you're not looking at the CLE43 (or otherwise marketed/bracketed car) until late 2024 to actually take delivery - if not later.

Nothing is confirmed for the powertrain that will be offered in this car. It very well could ship with the 4 cylinder. The w205 c43 is pretty dang reliable up to about 120k miles.

If you love your car - keep it a little longer IMO. If you love the e53 and don't mind a less dynamically impressive car (I think it looks incredible but will likely not be as good as a sports coupe as the c43 is) then order one.

I would assume the price difference is pretty big between ur lease buy out and a new E53 with all the options u want?
I like the looks of the e class never drove the amg versions. I would say go drive one hard or how u drive the c43 and see how u like the difference

I drove the bmw 5 series and they’re luxury but don’t handle like our cars do!

Thanks,
As others mentioned, test driving is highly recommended if possible find a vehicle with as close to how you option it when test driving (it is probably hard because of the market situation but it is possible).

You can only experience and understand something fully if you experience it yourself (in my opinion).

There is only so much we can say but everyone has different needs and wants.

As others mentioned as well C and E coupe of next generation is merging to CLE mostly likely heavily based on a C, so the drivetrain might follow, such as the four cylinders.

The E 53 you are ordering which you know is the C238 generation, it is reaching the end of the generation if not already last model year of that generation (model year you are ordering) so most if not all issues and glitches are patched and should be relatively reliable, it is a heavier car than your C 43 coupe with all the E-Class technology and the 48V system, I driven pfl and fl E 450 coupes but not necessary fair to compare as those vehicles' body roll is substantial.

The E 53 should not have that issue but I mentioned it so you can throw it around the corners when test driving and see if you comfortable with that, if you care about exhaust sound do get the PE again, the inline 6 is a very smooth sounding car, more "mature" sounding if you will than a C 43. C 43 although not exactly a small car is still more nimble than the E coupe.

The interior depending on your options, the E-Class will be better, it is a higher tier after all.

Either way, good luck with your decision, also tell us your wants and needs and maybe we could recommend something.

All good, I think OP ditched us. If OP comes back with more information on their wants + needs we will probably be able to recommend something.

2020 C43 AMG Coupe
I am still here.

Should I be concerned with the warranty expiring as the salesman stated?

Of course I need to test drive the E53 Coupe. My dealer does not have any in stock, but I found two area dealers (Chicago suburbs) with one each listed in inventory.

What is the deal with Mercedes and their 4 door Coupe nonsense?

I love my car but my lease is up in October. I don't love any of the BMW's, I find the Audi's boring and I can't afford a 911.

I probably will keep the C43 but I am concerned about the warranty and future maintenance. One possibility is buying the extended warranty. It is very expensive, though.

You will buy out ur lease?
I don’t know much
but if u give it back tgeyll CPO IT
maybe find out what that would cost but they are out to make money
if u haven’t had problems then it should be a solid car with just regular Maintence
Just my 2 cents

Just add the CPO Warranty with 2 additional years. It will give you 3 years of unlimited mileage warranty plus the remainder of your factory.
The cost SHOULD be just under $3k for a lot of piece of mind. If they're charging you much more than that make the drive to Cincinnati and we'll take care of you. I might even toss in a Skyline Coney for ya.

That is the current plan. There is no other car available under $100k that I would prefer.
