Today I removed my drivers side door handle to troubleshoot the keyless entry not working. Removal was easy and I think I found the problem, as the 2 prong connector seemed to be disconnected. I was unable to reconnect though due to the fact that the receptacle won’t stay in place so I decided to just reinstall the door handle. Unfortunately, I’m unable to get the handle back in.
I know that 2 grooves in the plastic piece need to mate with the 2 metal prongs but no matter how hard I push and twist, I cannot get the handle all the way in. I worry that I may break something off if I continue to push.

Any tricks you all can suggest?

Resolved! I saw that there is a little metal tab that can be popped out a bit to hold the spring-loaded prongs out, making for very easy alignment into the handle’s grooves. I still don’t have keyless entry but at least the handle is back on.
