-05 C55
Just broke 20K miles today (purchased 30 days ago, CPO) and also the first time I had a chance to test the pick from 85 - 100mph, WOW! I swear it wanted to keep going but too bad I had to use the brakes as a dude pulled right in front of me (I saw it coming and was prepared).
Read some comments that the AMG brakes (4 pistons and drilled discs) were all show and not much of a performance factor...must disagree today as it slow the car down pretty nice with no shimmy or pull.
And believe it or not, averaging over 80+mph obtains better MPG??? I had the same result with my '02 CLK55...even the dealer was shocked but what do they know.

C55AMG W203; 330i E90
Bought brand new, on the ground on 18th August 2004, a model year 2005 C55 AMG W203, RHD made in SA. Done 31000 km. Maximum fun and comfort, highly reliable car so far, no accidents, no dings whatsoever. The car will continue to be serviced (only) by official Benz dealer. I will replace this V8 with a C63 in 2008. I am resisting to go for the E63 viewing its horrifying fuel consumption in city drive although it is available here now. I still prefer something lighter with a V8. Comparing to the super facelift W211, not really that tempted for a CLK63 mainly because it doesn't look that much different from C55, and luxury, safety feature-wise, the W209 is aged. I thought downgrading an AMG to a 2007 E500 but that 388hp engine gives just 5.3s for its 1.9 ton weight.

05 E55
05 C55 for two years but just upgraded to a CPO 05 E55 (10K miles) about two months ago. I wanted something bigger since my family was growing and considering the deals available on E55s in the used car market I couldn't resist making the upgrade. Secondly, I wanted to beat the flood of C55s in the used car market with the introduction of the new C class.

based on production numbers for c32, c55.....maybe 5000+ people driving?
of which 1% (predominantly to 20-30 yr olds) are here....
what's the point asking this question on this forum? may make sense on another board?
oh i drive a c32, slowly evolving into a mclaren f1, or, at very least, a deutsche tourenwagen masters car!!!!
