only thing i don't really like about it exterior wise, is it's mirrors, a little too big
interior wise, the same as w203, the shifter is first among many

03 S55 AMG
I like it alot
I like what they've done with it though I would like to have seen a bit more flare to the fender well's like the W221. If what the media is stating about power (475bhp) it should be quite competitive with the new M3 V8 despite probably being heavier than the M and eating the lunch of a 335i or any other non big dog (M5, S63/S65) performance sedan.

C55AMG W203; 330i E90
C63, like it or not, people want a M badge ,will still get a M3E92 despite it is 50hp+ less (than C63) comparing with M3E46's 30hp+ less (than C55).
The C63 is unique, there is no match if people this time want a lighter AMG with equal/almost equal power(than E55/E63). A decision for a M3E36 or C55 was never because of physical styles or what gargets were there. The general buying criteria (since E46 vs W203) has not changed except C63 might just cost 10% more than the M3V8 this time. (Rich) AMG fans will only need to decide whether to wait for the 2008 CLK63 (506hp?).

CNTLaw- you're right in saying that the M3 will still be popular. I expect the C63 to close the gap somewhat as AMG have really gone to town with the styling, probably encouraged by the great reaction to the ultra-aggressive RS4. You can spot an E46 M3 from a mile away, whereas the C32/55 needed a keen eye and I think AMG have learnt from this.
However, older buyers may not react so positively. My mother drives a C32 as it gets no unwanted attention and was waiting for this car to upgrade. However, she's now going with the E63 when she changes, even it's not quite as compact.

I do think that the "aggressive" C class buyer will outweigh the one that ones anonymity among many of the C Class sedans.
And I would bet that MB is thinking the same thing.

2006 SLK55 AMG/// 2006 Porsche CaymanS 2010 135i
There's a good short article in AutoWeek (July 9) the review was very positive, it states 457Hp with a 0-60 of 4.3, seven speed etc, apparently the handling of the C55 has been greatly improved in the C63 and ESP can be swithced completely off!!!
Apparently the new C63 has had more development miles than any other car in AMG history..from AutoWeek) AutoWeek states "It operates on a much higher level than its predecessor in terms of prowess and overall dynamic performance"......All good things....it will also be available in a performance edition with a top limited speed of 174MPH.
Sounds like AMG did it right this time!!

I should just take that sucker bet, but -- the 030/P30 option was invented primarily for American enthusiasts. There is zero chance that they won't offer it on the US C63. This is especially true after they tally up the excess profits they're making on S63s with P30 as a $7,000 option. On that model it's forged wheels, piano lacquer trim and VMAX raised. It seems that more S63s are being delivered here with P30 than without. That probably doubles the profit on the whole car!
