C63 thoughts

The E63 is amazing, i have for 1 week and love it. However, the C63, which is getting great reviews and looks amazing might be here sooner than anticipated. Any thoughts on when it might get here and how much whould it go for (loaded)? Would a lease on it, given that there will bo no incentives, be in the $1300 range?

Thanks!

I very much like the new C63, I think with Kleemann's header and ecu it might very close to 500hp in addition to primary sport cats with a lower cell no, deleting 2ndary catalytics and adding an X pipe might to the trick.

As many have seen, it sounds terrific as is when caught on the spy video around a week or two ago. I wonder how it would perform with a few goodies.

..............The "relatively" lower torque AMG 6.2L engine needed a chasis with less weight. This is why I thought that the lack of a CLK63 coupe was a mistake. However, at only 3800LBs with ability to totally switch off ESP, I think MB/AMG may have hit the jackpot with the C63. It maybe the best 63.

I am definitely looking forward to its release. If anyone knows the date, please speak up.

MiamiAMG 07-05-2007 10:02 AM

I'm definitely going to take it for a test drive when i get the chance. :)

i like just about everything of the C63..

as long as the price is around low to mid 60's, it would be a good price point.

The price point is $63k, based on the review of car and driver.

I was thinking of spending $48k on a 335i and mod it.. later this year.

At this point, I can wait and see how it performs here in the US and pull the trigger next summer.

I think Motortrend said April 08 for the USA.

At under 70k loaded, I'm a buyer. Beyond that.. its over priced based on resale of previous AMG C class.

jyeh74 07-19-2007 04:08 AM

out the door for 70k is too much for a c class amg. with that price range, there are a lot of better cars imo.

I agree. I can't wait to see what the Black Series version of this car is going to be like!

What is "sooner than anticipated?" From all of the publications and forums I've seen and read, they are all saying approx March 2008 (same time as the M3) or possibly April.

As for a $1300/month lease rate, it'll mostly depend on the cap cost on the car and the residual it holds, as well as the interest rate given. But $1300/month on a C63 sounds crazy, considering if you work the numbers and deals, you can lease a E63 or M5 for a little more a month with probably the same down payment. From the early numbers that I've seen by BMW, you're probably looking at leasing a M3 around the $950-$1100 a month range with little or zero down. I'd hate to see the cap cost really up there causing the C63 to sell at a premium price and well over the cost of highly anticipated rival E92 M3.

March-April 2008.

I can't wait to test drive it :D

C63 sighting, already????????

All right, this is not a first hand report but it comes from a reliable car guy and former MB owner.

This morning he told me saw a C63 on the road with Manufacturer plates on it. I told him he was nuts because it will not be seen in North America for about a year now. He insisted, it looked like the picture I was showing him, of the C300 W204 that MB of Laguna Niguel had on its lot yesterday, and that it had California Manufacturer plates AND it said C63 on the tail. Hmmm..........

MB does have a major corporate presence in Irvine, so seeing a pre-production car in Orange County is not uncommon, but come on. A C63 on the streets of OC already? As I said, this guy is a real car guy and a solid PCA racer, so I really should not doubt him. Next time he'll need to get pics as proof.

The folks at AMG have said "early Spring 2008" for US delivery, so that pretty much equates to April 2008.

It could be true. I've seen an Audi R8 here back last october and the AM Vantage V8 at least half a year out before it got released.

It's possible I know that many of the dealers are currently going to "C class training" for lack of a better term,.

Driving the new C's etc., for familiarity., my dealer is attending one tomorrow so I suppose it's possible there are some here however the car would probably be euro spec as the US version apparently has some tranny program adjustments being worked out. I also saw an R8 in Vegas that was on a promo tour, it's not that uncommon.
