No backup camera?

I'm really surprised there is no back up camera on this car. Even Lexus offers back up cameras on their entry level sedans. Seems like such a standard thing for any car with a nav screen.

Any chance this is offered in 2009?

Parktronic is not a big deal for me but the back up camera would be nice. My wifes ML has the back up camera and it is useful. The camera deal is not a big deal either but it would have been nice. I will just have to rev the motor up to scare anyone away that is behind me.

I'm spoiled with a backup camera. It makes parking so much easier, especially in garages or parallel parking.

Just doesn't make sense of a car that is supposed to be luxury doesn't even offer this as an option, when the technology is really standard in the industry.

Not offering Sirius traffic/weather (like Ford) is another issue for another day....

Another thing that is on their other models as well as their immediate competition, is distronic - radar cruise control. Maybe midlife facelift for the 'C' will get it, a few years off.

Who cares about the backup camera really? All I care about is the 451 HP and 446 LB Ft of torque. The backup camera might be useful to see how far the car you just blew away off the line is behind you...lol.

I've got a back up camera on my Acura RDX, it was cool for about the first ten times I backed up. It's impossible to see on a very bright sunny day, and the distortion as to distance makes it worthless in judging how far you are from an object behind you. Just another gimmick.

If you need a backup camera and parktronic to park or reverse you probably shouldn't be driving any AMG car haha.

If you live in the city the backup cam becomes alot more useful as parking tends to be really cramped. I use mine all the time and I used to work parking cars.

Most people who want the backup cam at our dealer want them for the SUV's because they dont want to risk running over a kid. Its all relative in that not everyone needs one; I have a feeling that MB didnt think that C class owners would be very interested in the cam option which is why they didnt offer it but every MM radio is set up for it so at least they are thinking ahead.

Backcam is extremely useful in a (real) city. For those living in suburbia USA, sure, it's just a gimmick.

whether its a c class or an SUV you cant see below the trunk lid on either vehicle.. People back over junk in their driveway *all* the time, and sometimes the dog or cat is sitting behind the car, or someones kid. In those cases the camera pays for itself.

Says the man living in Ohio . . . live in a real city and you'll appreciate the back up camera.
