Guys, I want the "tonal quality" of an Aston or Ferrari sound, not the exact sound. That is definitely something tunable when designing exhaust systems. Hence, not all after market exhausts sound the same. Thanks for the ripping though...very justified.

BTW...the sound of a CL63, S63, E63, and C63 all sound different, yet have essentially the same motor. AMG is not going to attract CL63 buyers with a Mustang GT sound, that is for certain.

Perhaps the stock system will sound smoother once it burns-in a bit, but I am not that hopeful based on what I have heard already. However, I hope I am proven wrong for the sake of my own wallet.

A buyer that is looking at a CL63 is not going to buy a C63 anyway. They are totally different cars. The CL is more luxury and the C63 is more sport. I can't wait to hear the growl in my C63. BTW the C63 does not sound anything like a Mustang. A Mustang only wishes that it sounded so good.

WOW, you are feeling quite testy since you have been wronged, maybe you are correct about the aston and ferrari being 6.0 litres, but you obviously have neglected to realize that they are 12 cylinders, the C63 is an eight cylinder and I dont ever recall someone making they're eight sound like a twelve, go get a SL65, then maybe you might be able to replicate the sound you want.

The sad part is that there is way too much similarity between the sound of a Mustang and C63. Here is a question: Why doesn't the C63 sound more like the CLK63 Black Series? That car's exhaust sound is SO much better!

To be completely frank, all the things that I like about the C63, and there were enough to make me cancel my longstanding M3 order, the exhaust sound is definitely not one of them.

No offense...but, some of you guys are bigger Kool-aid drinkers than the crowd on M3post.com regarding any constructive criticism of their M3s.

Again...I love both cars, but neither of them is perfect, and each could be improved in several ways. Just trying to be objective, that is all. However, if you still think the C63 is the world's greatest car, more power to you. I am happy that you are easily satisfied!

BTW...I am using these as extreme examples of why I feel the C63 should have a smoother sound: A.) because it is a $65K car, B.) it is an AMG, and C.) Refer to both A. & B. again!

Now this is just my opinion. I think it sounds like a stroked out SRT8 6.1 to a 6.3 Hemi engine. As for me I personally don't like it and that's why I love the 55K motor and no ofense to anyone. As a matter of fact I love the 55K motor so much I had to have two. One for me and one or the wife.

just to gie you a heads up, that e63 has resonators removed as well as secondary cats removed with a x pipe.

the 63 engines just sound beefy and mean. I have been trying to figure out how to make it sound more exotic but the 6.3 liters just doesnt make that noise. sorry guys

the great thing is when you step on it people around dont know whats going on cause MB are not suppose to sound like that
