Day 2 - Plus some pics
So I had a lot more time to spend out on the road today, and it only gets better. The blast from the exhaust on a cold start coupled with the throaty gurgle is such a rush. For me right now, this is the perfect car. It really brings me back to when I had my E46 M3 and the feeling of really controlling a car and feeling comfortable in it. The seats are great, a secure fit which doesnt allow you to slide on any cornering. The center console and left door arm are both situated in the perfect position for me to drive, something the RRS definitey did not do.
I pulled onto the highway on the way home tonight and took it right to 4500 rpms and the sound of the exhaust going through a short tunnel, I cant even explain. The great thing is while driving, you cant even hear it while cruising. The suspension is tight. For me its just right. I would not want it softer or stiffer. But that will really depend what your coming from. Im coming from a Range Rover Sport and a sloppy SUV air suspension. I can see guys coming from other high end sports cars wanting more stiffness and the PP should provide that. For me, I dont need it. Im not tracking it nor do I plan on driving it w/o ESP on at least sport. And I dont ever plan on driving someone else's PP car, so what I dont know cant hurt. (I still fell that if you are the type to track or drive very hard with ESP off, get the PP)
The illumination of the cockpit is a beautiful thing, the NAV flip out is as well (although I wish it wouldnt auto-open on startup). I actually like the center console (i-drive like) dial. Whats better is u can do things with that, the wheel, or manually. And what can I say, the two tone sahara beige is amazing.
AMG did an awesome job with this thing. They perfectly matched aggressive power with the classic grace of a benz. It is like a wolf in sheeps clothing b/c they didnt go overboard anywhere. A few lumps here and a few vents there and the exterior is just right. When driving your line of sight is always right on the left hood bump reminding you of the power this car has.
One thing I noticed, my car did not come with the small rear fender pieces attached to the front of the wheel well. (or im pretty sure, ill hav to check tomorrow). Can anyone else confirm this on any of the newer deliveries?
Notice the other black C63 parked in the background
The lighting made my trim look almost brown. Its actually a black, a glossy black with some white marble effect.

I hope you've started finding all kinds of circuitous routes to and from the normal places you used to go - but despite taking 50% more miles to get there, you're getting there in the same amount of (or less) time!
Congrats and enjoy.

Welcome!
Congratulations on buying one of the most amazing sports sedans/supercars in recent history! I like your color combo!
As Tyanger mentioned earlier, prepare to drive a heck of a lot more than you've ever driven before.

Great looking car
I noticed your comment on the flip up nav screen. I have it as well in the C350 and it will stay closed upon start up if you shut down the car with it closed rather than open. So, before turning the car off shut the screen and it should stay closed the next time you start up.

just a general question regarding driving -
did u guys get a separate C63 manual or is it all just one C manual with footnotes for the C63?
and if i decide to shift in sport but I want to go back to automatic shifting, how do i do that?

Hold the right paddle or hold stick to right for a second or two and it will revert back to full automatic.

One with 4 wheels
Pat, I can't stop looking at these pics, lol!
I def love your color combo. I'm really wanting to see more Palladium/Sahara Beige combo pics. I think we have a few members with that combo, perhaps they will share their pics.
I can't wait to see that awesome black wood trim!
